Is C6 a timeless design?

Hard to say if it will be timeless. The C2 generations seems to fit that bill the best. I will give the C6 a great shot at being considered timeless however.
In reality, I have never found any generation that I did not like. I have owned at least one of every Gen. except the C1 and they have all been great. I know there are some out there that are not wild about the C4, but for its time it was a nice design (IMO).
Next question will the C7 be looked at as a timeless design, or will it be looked at as more of a departure of the basic design to pickup more of the European flare?

I don't know if the C6 will be timeless, but it will certainly will always have a personality, unlike any C4. Those things have always had the personality of plasterboard.
On the other hand, the C7's exterior...hmmm...
Maybe if they used some of that cheap Avalanche plastic on the fender wells or on a targa top to go along with the Camaro azz end...
Maybe that would bring it all together.

The C7 sucks rocks! The narrow body C6 is best! Everything built after the 1963 split window coupe, is bogus! On, an on, ad infinitum!
It's just ridiculous, when anyone with a brain knows that the 2010, thru 2013, C6 Grand Sport, is perhaps the very best Corvette ever built! It's classic lines, will forever be an inspiration to future car designers.
You guys need to get over yourselves.

It depends on who you talk to about timeless designs. To me, the simpler the overall design without "adornments" (gills, scoops, chrome, add on fender flares, etc.), the more likely it is to happen. But obviously that doesn't define the term since the '67 and others are considered timeless.
For my taste, the somewhat simpler and cleaner C1s are, as well as very possibly the simplest, cleanest form of the C6. Altho from a collector's standpoint, someday in the future, the more hotted up models will go for more money like the Zs and GSs.

It always amazes me how opinionated our members are. There is no room for compromise. No understanding of the other fellow's point of view, or acceptance of the other persons personal choices.

The widebody C6 is a great design. It will look great for years to come with the wide fenders & tires. The C5 without wagon wheels has great lines that still look modern today. NOTHING will ever have a timeless design like a C2 Corvette..

NOTHING.....I disagree.
The 1936 Cord Phaeton, had hide way headlights, stolen by the Corvette designers. The '36 Cord also came in Velocity Yellow, and Torch Red. Even came stock with exhaust headers. A classic to this very day. NOTHING indeed!
Sometimes it's good to be a little older than the rest of you kids.

I think the C6 is the best looking Vette ever, and that will hold true at least until the C8 comes out... I like it from every angle, but especially the back end; I think it is one of the best looking *** ends on any car, ever.
Whether everyone else will still like it years from now, who knows or cares. I still think the C5 looks good.
Only relatively hardcore Corvette enthusiats have any clue there is a "wide body" and a "narrow body"... they all look exactly the same to 99.99% of the entire population. In my experience that pretty much goes for the C5 vs. C6 as well.

The C7 is simply a very rushed attempt by the engineers to come out with something different since the C6 has been around 9 years though the C4 was around for longer than that. Say what you want but the base engine not producing 500 hp is simply lame. The exterior design is basically a C6 - with "fabric darts" and "slits" ... and oh yeah - fugly "camaro" taillights.
Compared to the C7, the C6 is classic styling of an AMerican sports car

I think the C6 looks dated in some respects (particularly the front fender/hood area) to the C7, but in a good way retains a somewhat classic design.
The C7 on the other hand does not seem like a style that will sustain itself as the C6 has done. It appears to be car designed by committee & compromise. The styling is too busy & incongruant as a sum of parts. Fangs, round gas filler, unimaginative rear hatch, two tier looking rear end, & far a field from the signature style that represents Corvette, imo.
The C6 will retain it's appeal, & ironically, enhanced in part by the dubious styling of the C7. I'm speaking strickly on style, as there are many great improvements that the C7 brings forth, which could mitigate what many see as a gimmicky & uninspiring style.

I got more looks and compliments in my MY C5, than I do in my C6. That's OK though, when I had my C5 next to the C6, the C5 looks very dated. I love C5's, but the C6 has some good years on it still.

If money, time, and space were no obstacles, I'd have one 'vette from every generation, for a complete collection, and drive a different one every day.
