It's a shame that we don't see this more often too. Especially from the ponycars. Pretty classy IMO.

They're still faster than you'd think was possible for a big truck!! Some of them can embarrass you if you pick a fight with them!

Flowmasters are the perfect exhaust for a Mustang, and have been for decades. Was at a light with my '06, left turn lane, when a brand new Boss pulled up next to me. Mutual thumbs up. A friend has an '03 911 Turbo. Again, mutual admiration. Car lovers are just that.

I don't pick fights on the street - with that said, I'm not convinced that a "street legal" 8,000 lb truck would embarrass me

Same for me. I usually just wait for a curvy on or off ramp and allow the Corvette to work it's handling magic as I watch the truck disappear in the rear view mirror.

I get more idiots wanting to test the wife's Shelby when I drive it than the Vette, but I ignore all of them.

Newbies whining about long-time forum rules against posting about street racing bring the lulz, especially when they quote a moderator's warning.

DON'T CRY buddy.... I got my Z06 so I didn't have dumbasses in Mustangs mess with me. If they do I show them who is boss. I guess that is why I put a supercharger on.. Are you trying to say that you bought a Corvette but never race it.

Um, what? If you bought your Vette and modded it simply to show Mustang owners "who is boss" good for you. Do I race my Vette (or the Shelby) on the street? Nope. Do I race the Vette? Yup, legally every chance I get. I've run it for almost 140 miles at 150 mph average, as recently as April. You can do your illegal, dangerous, stupid street racing. I'll stick to real racing.

Oh, and BTW, you really need to click here: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/foru...ng-videos.html

Times they are a changing. Last Saturday I attended the monthly Cars and Coffee. On the way home there was a group of different muscle cars and exotic's all heading the same way across a bridge that spans part of Tampa Bay and once on the other side I pulled up next to a blue Porsche whale tail and he ask if my '07 was supercharged because he said it sounded like it as wee were going across the bridge. I told him no and then he said nice ride and of course I said thanks and returned the compliment on his Porsche. Light changed and we drove off like normal people. Just a few guys out to enjoy the day with a bunch of other car enthusiasts.

It aggravates me that every Mustang GT sounds 10 times better than a stock C6. I know - there have been many discussions on here about why that is so (LSx firing order, etc). But I wish GM would at least make the C6 sound like the great car it is. The 2010 base C6 I bought a few weeks ago came with Bullets on it - now that may be a little overkill sound-wise. I really think you have to have a cam and headers on the C6 to get a good exhaust sound. More to the OP's point, I appreciate a nice looking Mustang, P-car, F-car, R8, whatever -and I really haven't had very many people challenge me on the street in the recent 6 years of corvette ownership. Hey, a lot of different price points and tastes out there and plenty of road for them all!
