Yessssss, Finally!!!
I purchased my new '13 GS several months ago. Unfortunately with rain, often heavy, nearly every day for months. I haven't been able to drive it nearly as much as I'd like.
It's been killin' me, following the Owner's Manual break-in protocol, which isn't completed until 1,500 miles.
This morning, with 1,173 miles on the clock, and glorious sunshine every where, I decided I was close enough to that 1,500 mile mark.
My wife and I took a ride out to a state road, just a few miles out of town. This road is 4 wide lanes, two in each direction, separated by a 60' wide grass median. It is totally flat, straight, and dry, with sugar cane fields on either side, and you can see for a mile in the front & rear.
It's early Sunday morning, and there are literally no other cars on the road. Not wanting to burn off a lot of expensive rubber, I nailed first gear from a 10 MPH roll, and then ran it through the gears up to 110 or so MPH, shifting at 6,000 rpm each time.
Freakin' WOW!!!
I never got out of 4th gear....the car was stable, and felt like it was on rails the entire time. I would have loved to take it to at least 140 mph, but couldn't, because I knew I'd be in trouble, if an animal came out of the sugar cane fields across the road.
I repeated this procedure 4 or 5 times. Got a real Adrenalin rush each time. Even bone stock, this LS3 GS is just a beast of a car!
For those of you who've seen posts like this many times before, and are bored with seeing it yet again, I'm sorry, but I'm sure you'll get over it.
For those of you with a new 'vette, still limited by the break-in instructions, I say....you have a real thrill waiting for you.

Cool story.
It still amazes me how smooth the GS rides at triple digit speeds. I hit 153 mph (closed course track) and if the HUD didnt show 153, I would have never known I was going anywhere close to that speed.
