To valet, or not to valet

OP...I didn't read through your thread, but here's my 2 cents.
I told my wife when I first got my car. There are two rules.
1) If I'm not 100% certain, that I will be able to park my 'vette myself, in a safe place of my choosing, then I use other transportation.
2) Never forget rule #1.

I have stayed at the Mandalay Bay a couple of times and always let them park it for me. No damage or issues either time. The up side is that if you park it yourself when at the Mandalay Bay it is parked outside and a long walk back to the hotel. Let them park it and it is under ground and easy access if you left something in it.

I have used valets without a problem. I might not if I had a ZR1 but I figure they drive cars a lot nicer than my base convertible. The reason I wouldn't use a valet in Vegas is the wait to get your car back. Worse than the taxi line on weekends.

He went out and wagged his finger at the kid, which of course, pleaded that it was the cars fault.
Told the Mgr that I am a life long Firestone customer and it was 100% likely that I would never be back unless the hazard warranty was needed to be used
Mgr apologized profusely but , like i told my wife, that's his job to apologize, I am very reasonable, but this was over the top

My exact words were, " i just heard my car come roaring around the corner, I'm pissed, you better take care of this because I'm pissed"

When customers get concerned about the service, they walk. A manager that cares will take note and fix the situation all around.
Not something to abuse but a needed action at times.
As to OP, my car is entirely too new for me to be comfortable with valet service. However, I might fly to Vegas and rent a Vette or other lux car just for the enjoyment.

I have driven my corvette from Los Angeles to Vegas more than just a handfull of times. Always used vallet and never had a problem, as a matter of fact, I love listening to my car coming up the ramp. Everyone turns to listen and my buddies always say "here comes your car". My car is my daily driver, I purchased it with 25k miles 2.5 years ago and im close to hitting 65k miles now.
Vallet it. you'll make the guy parking your car happy.
Enjoy your trip.

I wont either. My comment was questioning not wanting to drive his vett on the LV strip. I'm there nearly every weekend and its no big deal. I always park myself.

So after taking the advice from most.... I decided not to valet. Even taking my time and being careful in the Luxor parking area I still scraped a couple of times so I could only imagine if someone else was driving.
It worked out well though parking myself. I took my time and found something away from the majority of "parkers" but not too far away as it would be by itself. Found I nice corner spot where I was the end car with an open corner so I had plenty of room to scoot over a bit allowing the car next to me a little more room too.
Parked it Tuesday, drove it shortly Wednesday night, and brought it home Thursday. No issues with parking her in the garage. All in all.... good trip!
