GM will warranty provide one alignment between 3,000mi and 7,500mi. They want at least 3k to let the springs settle. I had a slight adjustment done at 4k and it pulled even worse after. Round 2 is today. I asked about Pfadt specs and unless you have a "under the table" style service writer, they have to use the GM specs that it recommends on the screen of the laser alignment rack.
You'll have to find a non GM shop to align it different unless you pay the dealer yourself instead of warranty. Even then the dealer might not do it.

My dealer told me that GM would only provide one alignment within six months of delivery date and they are not waranteed because as soon as you leave the dealer you could hit a pothole. I was two weeks over and had to fork over $150. The alignment had not changed on the before after for three out of four wheels and the fourth was still in spec.

4thC4at60, You got 160,000+ miles out of your C4 OptiSpark? The first day I drove my 94 C4 I had to drive in the rain and got about 2 blocks before it started to crap out. No problems with replacement .
2012 GS, 15 months, no problems except for a road gator.

I took my 2013 GS in yesterday for an initial alignment to Pfadt street specs and the alignment shop could not get the caster to 7 degrees on both front wheels. Right side 4, left side 7. They worked on it for 3 hours. I needed the car so I took it home. On the way home it was pulling to the right, so I changed my plans and brought it right back. They worked on it again, and it is still there. They say I may have to settle for what ever caster setting they can get equal in both wheels and still get the camber and toe in correct. Does this sound right? What effect will a lower caster have on the handling?

Only minor cosmetic issues on my 2011 GS thus far. Had to have the targa top front clips replaced. They were loose and the left one would pop out each time I removed the roof. Also replaced the passenger side interior a-pillar trim due to bubbles. All work completed under warranty. Bought it with 140 miles. Around 5300 miles on it now. No mechanical issues and the motor pulls strong. I also had the alignment redone for better tire wear. Still plenty of tread on the GY SC Gen 2's. Overall I'm very pleased with my GS.

My carpet has separated from the trim on the center console, near the driver's seat belt buckle. After searching the forum, it appears to be common and related to excess heat in the drive tunnel. Disappointing. (2013 GS convertible, 1500 miles)

Hey all,
We're sure that most of you are already aware of our availability to assist in any situations with a dealership you feel you need additional support on. Just popping in for those who don't know!

What are forums for? So you can tell everyone how great your car is and you have no problems? I think we all wish that but you have to be realistic. We come here to tell about our successes and our failures. We ask about our problems and many if not most of the time we get answers from other knowledgeable forum members. Easy fixes, DIY's and great suggestions and feedback (well most of the time).
My '12 GS has had some very minor issues but without having to run to the dealer I think I get great advice here on the forum. And best of all it's free and easy. Enjoy the drive this is one of the greatest American made machines on the road today.

Many posts above express my sentiments that forums will almost ruin anything. (Try some boating fishing forums, and you would never venture off the dock in any boat!)
However, to answer the question you actually asked:
No, I do not notice more complaints about any one model year, or model period.
Further, if there was a way to correctly count complaints, you couldn't fairly compare those about one model year to the summation of complaints about three model years.

Mine is running rich when I get on it. Rotten egg smell, just a whiff, nowhere near as much as my '06 with Diablo tune. Here at 7000', not terribly surprising and it's better than too lean. Only 600 miles, so fuel economy isn't accurate. Did get 22-3 or so with my '06 which isn't bad at all.

I find that so hard to believe
My 13 was a pile out of the factory. Alignment bad, different color brake calipers, carpet not lined up, rear driver side targa top holder loose and floppy, rear bin doors don't close flush, both headlights crazed (cracked internally), driver seat doesn't look mounted "level", battery leaking acid out of the caps, had neon green spray from A/C on hood liner, window trim oxidized, glove box handle rattles annoyingly.
Bought it with 7 miles on it. 4,300 now.
Luckily the engine was built in Mexico.

9,000 miles on the 2011 GS convertible with no problems. Heard about the bad alignments from the factory and had an alignment done early on so tires are showing no wear. Very happy with the car.

My '13 GS has been literally perfect in every way, from the day I took delivery a few months ago.
Of course I've only clocked 1,200 miles so far, so time will tell if anything shows up.
