Default New GM Wipers, Made in Japan

Dont get me wrong here I love the Corvette and also own another GM vehicle that I love as well.
I ordered new GM wiper blades and was very surprised they were made in Japan.
I realize lots of parts on the C6 are made in Mexico and Canada but did not realize some parts also are made in Japan.
BTW the drive belt is Mitsubishi🙈

I think most things like that are foreign made. Bosch blades are made in Germany (according to "How It's Made" on the Science Channel ... one of the best programs ever for nerds).

But like Plasboy ... I avoid something made in China if at all possible. Not only is the quality generally poor and it's made in inhumane sweatshops ... it might have a spy chip in it somewhere.

I avoid anything Chinese for the car:
Too much lead, reduces performance and mpg.

I was at a Chevy dealership last week. They are actually putting labels on the window sticker saying where a majority of the parts of the cars are made. I thought this was interesting. I thought the Corvette was the an all-American (made) car. I wonder how this works into Chevy's marketing strategy. I guess you can't go wrong with being upfront. Times are changing...

I am old enough to remember when everything made in Japan was considered junk. China is no different. You get good stuff and bad stuff from every where in the world.

It would be nice if it was all made in the USA, but the car would probably cost $180k. I dont mind Japan manufactured parts as they seem to pay more attention to quality control and detail than the other place.

The difference is, the Japanese stuff was cheap (inexpensive), the Chinese stuff is mostly junk! There are a few exceptions, but mainly the case. The Japanese merchandise was always of good quality, but considered poor due to the low prices when they first started shipping over here after the war.
