Default XM Who needs it

My 2013 came with USB drive. At first I took a 16GB thumb drive and put all of my CDs on it. And each CD was in its own folder. This is okay when you feel like listening to a whole CD; but sometimes you just want individual songs. So then I took another 16GB thumb drive and put every song into one folder. Now I put that in and hit random play and I have 2667 songs that play randomly. Much like a XM radio station but even more selection and none of the talk.

I like to listen to the news while I drive, as well as music. XM fits that bill with me because I don't have to fish out the stuff I like when crossing from one broadcast area to another. Also, I have my iPhone connected to the sound system, so I can listen to my own personalized playlists if I wish.

if XM didn't turn themselves into thieves and scammers i would probably still subscribe, but their employees are made to get every nickel out of you even if it's stealing..... Their policies make it so they deceive you into keeping it longer than you wanted and it takes forever to get what you need accomplished because their employees are either idiots, or paid to be idiots.....

I know there are ways to get around this by not using a CC and paying by check and so forth, but I won't give a business like that my money anymore.

Are you able to stream audio from your I-Phone through your radio via bluetooth or are you plugging in your I phone in the console?

If the price is right why not XM? I like listening to the races if I'm in the car and certain other stuff not on my phone and just generally like it.I don't like it more then 88 bucks a year though!! What really amazes me (confounds me,actually) is that my 63k msrp 2013 GS sound system does not have streaming audio and my 27k Limited Hyundai does...go figure.

I have it in both my cars. I enjoy it and have not had any problems with their customer service.

A years worth of XM is my monthly cable bill.

I honestly couldn't live without XM. Since I'm a fan of hard-rock, the channel The Boneyard introduces newer "older" bands I've never heard of (like Angel) as well as newer material every day. That and the Comedy Central channel playing current, up-to-date comedians (as well as interviews from some such as a recent one with Kevin from The Office) keep me ahead of the game.

The USB insert is nice, and I have every "legal" Rush album on there, but in sad, 320Kbs MP3 format. For an audiophile, it's unacceptable. If you're a member of the tone-deaf "Apple" crowd where an iPod's audio quality is "acceptable" then you're probably okay with compressed audio format. I find it painful.

We have SiriusXM in both my car and my wife's car (but not in my knock-around truck ... no capability for it). I listen to music whenever I'm in the car, but during football season it's nice to listen to other games when I'm on the way to and from our games, a 4 hour trip each way. They pretty much have something for everyone.

Do you actually find the radio in the Corvette up to audiophile standards? I don't ... the one I have now is worse than the one in my C5 (The C5 had Bose and this one doesn't, but neither were super quality). In that case, the music format doesn't really matter.

I've managed to negotiate a good deal with XM for the last five years and I'm quite satisfied with the service received for the price I'm paying.

I've had XM Radio for years now. I get good deals and no issues from them so I'll continue listening to it!

i do the same thing in my 013. i live in pa. and the xm radio is hit and miss, sucks. i just started using the flash drives, really better way to go over xm. just bought 4 from best buy and plan on ripping the cd's over to the f.d.'s at my leisure. i think they sound as good as the cd's.

I get a good deal on my yearly subscription, and both my wife and I like XM when were doing road trips to PGA golf tournaments.
XM allows us to keep tabs on the tournament that were going to, as well as news on CNN, or from back home in Canada on their XM news channel.
It works for us, and we enjoy the variety.

I love XM. My wife's new Acadia Denali plays any music we have on our I phones through Bluetooth. Way ahead of the Corvette or The HDD in my Denali HD truck.

My wife.

I can take it or leave it. Right now, I'm enjoying the last 3 free months in my 2012 coupe.

I never activated the free trial. I use Pandora through the aux-in port and that works well for me.

That can be an ear buster if you forget to turn it down when done.

I enjoy my XM a lot. I am able to listen to all the rock I want and don't have to listen to anything I don't want. On road trips it is really nice
