Bugs and summer!
This should probably be in car care, but it's pretty dead over there.
It's getting to the point that I almost hate to drive the car. I have been using Lucas' Slick Mist, but they still stick and have to be washed off with a power washer. Before washing them off, I pre-treat with a little more Slick Mist. I know that is not it's purpose, but it helps a bit. Is there anything, other than a bra, that works better? I'm going to put some Rain-X on the windshield, because I know that helps from past experience.

When I bought my C5 years ago I had a 700 mile ride home. Needless to say the front end was covered. A sponge and a bucket of warm water and it cleaned up fairly easily. Contacted the PO and he said the car had multiple applications of Adam's Buttery Wax. YMMV!

Bugs around here are bad year round; have to pretty much jump on the interstate to go anywhere and my front end, side mirrors and windshield get covered in them. I use a relatively easy method to remove them with (fairly) little effort. First, when I do a good detail, I apply a good coat of wax, I also follow every wash with detail spray. When I wash my car, the first thing I do is really soak down the front, windshield, and mirrors with they hose set on max stream. I then do me wheels, returning to soak down the three areas again when done; I repeat soaking down those areas as I wash and rinse the remaining areas of the vehicle. Once the rest of the vehicle has been washed/rinsed, I do the three areas (last); by the time I do, everything has softened up to the point most just wipe off.

Darn bugs are indeed a problem. Here is what I do.
A good polymer wax - 2 coats at the beginning and in the middle of the season. Rainx or wax the windshield.
I spray down the bumper, mirrors and windshield with a spray bottle of distilled water.
I then spray a Meguiar's Scrubbing Wash Mitt with the distilled water.
I start to work away at the bugs, liberally spraying with more distilled water. They come off pretty easy.
Then I use a rubber squeegee on the windshield and microfibre towels on the painted areas.
I often finish off the painted areas with some wax.
I'm usually home by 9pm as headlights are bug magnets.

Put some lard on it....
I'm using the hybrid ceramic wax this year and its working well as bugs are not hard at all to get off...
Good luck....when you drive make a difference too....evening right into early dark is the worst time.

Our bug season is over as it's now triple digits, took a cruise with the club last week a couple hundred miles and only had
like three bug splatters......sweet.

I don't know what kind of bugs you guys have in your neck of the woods. But in Florida, especially the love bugs do a lot of damage to the clear coat. It doesn't matter what wax you use, their body fluid is like acid, and eats right into the clear coat, and creates permanent scares in the paint. Every time I come home, I have to wash the frontend off immediately.

Turtle Wax Bug and Tar remover seems to work fine for me . Spray on, let it marinate for 15 minutes, and wash off. Really loosens the bugs.

EZ wax spray works great for getting bugs off, and for making them easy to clean off.
It's not very durable, but does those two things well.

I use Peroxide on my DD and the Vette. Spray on before hosing the car down, let it set for a few minutes and then rinse. Been using this method for years and it is a winner.

Most of my driving is in Arizona and while I do get some bug splatter from time to time, it's not to the extent that I am going to make a post and complain about it and give up driving my Vette.
Wash your car good.
Apply a good wax.
Apply a good sealant.
Consider Invisi-bra
Consider a reputable shop applying a few more layers of clearcoat.
Or.....
You can always walk, take the bus, or move.
Complaining about bug splatter is like people who live in Washington State complaining of rain.
Just enjoy your ride and hose it down immediately following your drive.

Sorry you guys are having trouble with bugs, because I don't like my car splattered, but I am actually glad to hear there are still bugs out there. I am worried that we are wiping out all the bugs which will lead to the end of life as we know it. No bugs = no birds and then on up the food chain. We have had fewer bugs around our house the past 2 years and initially I was happy but then I got a little worried thinking my neighbors must be using a lot of chemicals to wipe out all the bugs. I used to step out my front door into a spider web regularly. Now I hardly see a spider. I don't get a lot of bugs on the vette either.

I find that if the front is well clay barred/waxed then the bugs come off very easily. I keep a small spray bottle of water and a micro fiber towel in one of the cubbie holes in the back for quick cleaning on the go. It works well.
