Safety Car
Most people aren't being deliberately disrespectful, I think they simply don't realize the hours we put into hand washing and detailing our cars. They usually just run 'em through the wash at the gas station and drive off.

C6 of Year Finalist (performance mods) 2019
Running through the car wash and a quick touch-up afterwards is all I do for shows. I don't enter judged shows, just the weekly get together ones in an empty parking lot. I only go to hang out with other car guys, so I never get concerned with people who might touch my car, but I've never seen that happen yet.

Glad you brought the topic up.
I hope the "PLEASE do not touch" signs do the trick...but I have my doubts. On the flip side, I want others to appreciate my car as I do, so I guess I am willing to take the risk.
I do think there is strength in numbers, though, when you are at a larger meet with more cars shown. Might be a numbers game with better odds against being the car that gets touched and/ or scratched
Figure a spectator that doesnt have the proper manners will tire of looking close at each and every vett and leave them alone,
Thats my hope, anyway

When kids want to look at my car, I open the door and give them the opportunity to sit in it. "Oooh, dad, the speedometer goes 200 mph."
Guess what? I just made a future Corvette owner!
Don't be so frickin' ****. One thing you will never see on my car is a "Do Not Touch" sign. It's a car. Keep a spritzer of detailer to touch it up, and enjoy the experience!

Car show LINE of DEFENSE
Hello CF members,
What is your line of defense between your car and unaware sticky fingers, hands, etc...I have a couple of the "hands free device" do ot touch signs, but I had a lady take one of them off the car, flip it over, look at the back and then say "I don't get it". I had to explain to her it is a sign designed to let people know DO NOT TOUCH, Keep your hands free from the device-my car. Geesh, it was kind of humorous. But sad. Anyway any ideas.( leg hold traps are illegal, I checked-haha)
Thanks in advance,
GentlemanVette

People around these parts understand not to touch the cars at a show, even the little kids.

If you will do this to the woman who "touched" your car, would you punch a kid in the head if they lean on it?
You do realize we are talking about a C6,a car that anyone can go to a dealer and not only touch, but drive and also buy one.

Hi again,
I'm seeking advice. I do my best to conduct myself in a polite gentlemanly manner. I do my best to represent Corvette in a positive manner. I enjoy, seeing people enjoying the many rides at these shows. I was raised to put my best foot forward-ie keeping the ride clean. I'm proud to be a CF member and promote this site often (including at these shows). I appreciate the sincere answers and humorous answers. I even understand the few that go personal.
But here is the subject of this thread...

I think this takes it a little too far.
