C6 Window Tint
I am taking my 13 base coupe in to get the windows tinted. I am thinking of doing 20% on the sides and on the back my choices are 5% or 20%. I originally was thinking 10% on the back but that is not an option.
Anyone have experience with 5% on the back window is it too dark? What about 20% on the back is it ok or too light?
Thanks!!!!

Just had my 2013 GS Coupe tinted with 20% on the two side windows and also the hatch glass. Looks super cool on my triple black car. Also had the ceramic 70% film applied to the windshield. This stuff is great at blocking heat transfer and UV.
I had to get my eye doc to write a note for our DMV allowing anything darker than 35%. The required medical condition is called photofobia. If you have a long term relationship with your eye doc, then the "wink, wink, nod, nod" process applies like in Monty Python.

I have a CE GS vert Callaway. I have 5 percent on sides and back and 30 percent on windshield. Yes, it's DARK. I use this car strictly for fun and and car shows. I don't recommend this if you're going to be driving the car as a dd or a bunch at night. I am extremely careful and I've only heard the term Batman about a hundred times. Something about black cars and tint that makes them look even more awesome........

Pennsylvania was NOT a "window tint" friendly state, in the past, and most times inspection stations would fail a car because of added on window tinting. Better check to see if the law was ever changed first before doing it.

I went one shade darker than Florida law allows. Great for daytime in the sun yet still fine for night driving. If I did a majority of night driving, I'd stay lighter. Mine does keep the car cooler and keeps eyes off stuff under the hatchback. Main thing is to get a good product (3M for me) and a great installer. I used the guys at Adamo / US301 in Tampa.

I did 15% all around few years ago. It was awful driving at night and impossible to navigate parking lots at night without rolling down the windows.
I'm now in TX which allows 25% on the side windows. When I went to get the state inspection it failed. The tinter that redid mine said he would put anything on that I wanted and would tell me where to go to get it to pass inspected but I decided not to push it. I now have 30% which I think is a good darkness for me.
As one poster said, PA is not tint friendly...

I did 35 on the side glass and 25 on the rear hatch. 35 is the max in my state for the side glass. The problem I have is with the tint not adhering to the area of the glass that has the printed black patterns up by the halo. I went back to get it corrected and that has turned into more problems. Good luck.

I was talking to a Z06 owner about his tint and he said that the 5% on the rear window was too dark and he could not see out very easily. I would recommend 15-20% on the rear and 5% on tyhe sides...that's what Im doing for my '05 clean C6

on my 2013 Grans Sport I put 75% on windshield / 30% on the rest Looks great. I have no problems driving at night.
<<<< see my pic ...it's not as dark as you think from the inside. I also wear sunglasses and have no problem.
