when parking in your garage, what do you do to cool the engine compartment, if at all

I park in the driveway, and let it cool down a bit, and then pull it into the garage. But that's generally to reduce the heat load through the walls of the garage into my house, where I have to spend big time bucks to remove it....

at the track i crack the hood open and let it idle 2-5 minutes.
at home i crack the hood, connect the battery tender & go inside.
on the road, shut it off and get out unless it's been run hard
then i let it idle a few minutes then shut it off.

Unlike some area in the mainland with their insane summer heat, we enjoy temperatures in the 80's, even in the rare occasions up to the 90's, we generally get trade winds to smooth things out. Given the mild conditions, I always leave my hood and garage open after any drive. Hood shuts only when metal parts are cool to the touch. Added benefit is not transferring engine heat into the house.
I am **** in car upkeep to minimize long term heat damage to components in engine compartment - not only on Corvette:
Ever work on older car, notice how brittle plastic gets and wiring stiffen/discolored?
When I find some time away from other "car" projects, all the non stress fastener will get the ventilated treatment to further make me feel better - not joking.
Different strokes for different folks.

I keep a cover on mine. After parking, I leave the cover off for a cool down period.
One reason for the cover is to keep the pet cat from sitting directly on the fabric vert top. (She does love to perch up there.) When I walk away without spreading the cover, I usually spread a beach towel across the top - it's a perfect size to add a layer between cat and top.

We have a winner I Do the same. Cars are test in extreme heat and cold before they are sold to General Public. No one would want to get out everytime they park and open hoods turn on fans and so forth. If I plan on working in garage leave car out or don't drive it so I can work on it.

On a really hot day here in Florida, I like to pull into the garage, close the garage door leaving it open about 24" off the floor, then letting the car idle for at least 30 minutes.
It get's beastly hot in the garage, some times hitting 130F. Then I shut down the engine, open the door and go outside, where it's only 94F.
It feels like the whole world is air conditioned. It feels better than stopping, when you've been banging your head against a wall for 15 minutes.
