It's also illegal here, but my front plate has been sitting in my trunk under the carpet for over a year now with no problems ::knock on wood::

They're talking about getting rid of the red light cameras too.

Be sure to write you state legislators everyone. I know I did last week and I'll do so again this week.

Time to get this crummy, revenue focused plates off our vehicles. Despite what the OHP has to say, this has nothing to do with safety and everything to do with bolstering their budgets.

I had to exchange those awful tags for the new tags, which I like better. I was surprised to see that these new plates are flat/no raised letters and numbers...

Just about every year they try and get rid of the two plate law in Missouri. The damn Highway Patrol gets the bill/amendment killed every time.

One stupid legislator voted against dropping the two plate law because he said the state had already manufactured two plates for each car. Idiot doesn't realize that, that money is already spent, but the money to manufacture two plates next year, and the year after that, etc, hasn't been spent and two plates cost more than one plate to manufacture.

You would think with all the budget shortfalls states are having every year, that repeal of this wasteful 2-plate mistake, would be easy as pie nationwide.

Basically the same thing here in Texas, every two years it comes up and then goes away.

Also I noticed some say it will save the state a million, one a million is nothing, two the price of the tag pays for the plate. Here in Texas you pay every year but they only give you new plates every five years. In essence it dosn't cost them anything.

I hope this passes! The state of Missouri has been trying to get this passed for 20 years. Latest bill failed a month ago. And so it goes..........
