Default Corsa Exhaust from Touring to Sport

I currently have a Corsa Touring exhaust fitted to a 2005 M6. It is the complete system with resonators in-line on the H-Pipe. I am considering removing the resonators. Theoretically this makes it a Sport system? Will the system be louder on the outside. Will it produce drone on the inside or will the Corsa mufflers still cancel most of that out? Would love to hear everyone weigh in...pros and cons.

Thanks....

I have the same system on my '05'. Thought about that too. Hope you saved your original H pipe.

I have the Extreme catback on mine, no drone, and only a little louder than stock.

I do not have my original pipe. The custom muffler shop in my area would just cut them off and weld two sections of small straight pipe on to the Corsa H-Pipe.

The Corsa Sports I purchased in 2007 have resonators on the X/H pipe that were specific for the A6 trans and eliminating the drone.

There is another short resonator after the X/H pipe that converted the Sport to the quieter Touring model. Mine has a straight pipe in this section and would make conversion very easy.

Not sure if they are still doing it this way or not.

I put the Touring on my 06 after I brought it home. So far, so good.

You should see if theres anyone with the sports that may want the touring x pipe, then you can trade for the oem h pipe... I have the sports on '06 A6 and no drone at all. (the reason i say trade over cutting/splicing first is that i believe in the "once you start cutting it'll never be the same" mentality. If you cut and splice pieces you MAY experience rattles or drone that may not be there with 1 piece units.) IMO

You should be good to go with that. I put my 'touring' system on about 7 years ago. It's been great but I would like to try that. I took my stock mufflers to the recycle center but did keep the original 'H' pipe.

The '05' with an A4 is different. You have two 'tunnel' mufflers that bolt to the cats, then a shorter 'h' pipe before you go to the over axle pipes. Tunnel mufflers can be removed and the original longer 'h' pipe needs to be used.

I had a local machine shop make two straight pipes with the flare formed I to them to take theplace of my resonators. That way I can remove those pipes and put the resonators back in if I ever want to go back without changing the H-pipe.
