What kind of mileage are you getting from your tires? Heard the Z51 tires go off very quickly. Sticky = Soft.

Yup - OEM Goodyear Supercars don't last very long. Typically 10k - 15k miles. Some people have reported less (as low as 8k), while others have gotten more (20k on my fronts, 26k on the rears, when I hit the bars).
In addition to driving style, temperature (higher temp = lower miles), and road surfaces play a big part. Some roads in the southern states have road surfaces which are more abrasive (crushed shells used as a material), and take a big toll on tires.

The Good Year Supercar F1 tire that's on the Z51 equipped Vette is the same compound but different size than the ones on the Z06. I've got 9,500 on my factory original tires and they are almost on their way out. I had a Z51 equipped convertible before and I sold it with 17,000 miles on it and they had about 10% left. You're right, they're soft but the stick okay when they're new, but crap when they're old.

Just bought a Z51 (SB1) with a set of brand new Conti Extreme. So can't chime in on longevity yet, but heard on this forum that they rated way above average in that respect.
That, combined with great comfort and handling makes them (IMO) very underrated tires.

Mine lasted 13K miles with cord showing on my 06. The Bridgestones are at 12K now and still look new.

OEM Z51 tires have less tread when new than others.
Regular non-Z51 OEM front tires start with 10/32" of tread. Rear tires have 11/32" of tread.
OEM Z51 tires have 9/32" of tread on each tire.
So, in addition to starting out with less tread, they're also softer.
