Default Oil Pressure

I have a question concerning oil pressure. I recently purchased a 2005 C6 with 33K miles. It was a one owner by an elderly couple. I`ve had it completely serviced and inspected. Nothing was found wrong. The shop used the correct 5w30 synthetic oil. Now, when the engine is warmed up it idles at around 25 psi. When driving at 65-70 it has 45 psi. The oil gauge on these cars have an 80 psi gauge. I thought it would carry more pressure than this. Is this normal? I own a 2001 Suburban I bought new and it now has 147K miles and it still carries 65 psi oil pressure.
Thanks in advance for your expertise.

That's normal for your model vette.

They use the same guage in the dry sump engines, that's why it goes so high on the reading.

Yes it's the same with my 08 vette. My 07 chevy avalanche has a much higher reading. Weird, but normal I guess.

My 2005 A-4 idles at 30 PSI and goes up to 40 PSI when on freeway.
