I've had 2 vacuum leaks on my Z06 over the years - both on long road trips.
I like my M2W switch, and when driving solo around town I've got them open most all the time.
When with my wife they're closed, except when next to some other performance car, or somebody in a pickup or such that gives me a Then I'll open them up and my wife will say "who are you giving the pipes to now?"
However, on those 2 road trips, the groaning, moaning, throbbing noise is VERY annoying!!!!
Both times I was far away from home.
First time I tracked it down to a split vacuum hose under the hood and went to a auto parts store and got a piece of tubing and repaired it.
Second time I couldn't find the problem while on the road and to get rid of the horrible annoying throb I got a wire coat hanger and twisted a piece around each of the solenoids to keep them close for rest of the trip. When I got home I found split tubing back near where the left exhaust goes up over the axle and repaired it.
So....I love the dual mode exhaust, but don't like them open when cruising down the highway for any period of time.
Just MHO, YMMV!

I understand. Maybe because my closed position on my Fusions is most likely louder than a stock open position is why I am asking. I open and close them all the time. If I did not use them, I would not bought the Fusions.

My intention has always been to install the controller but at 6.5 years old and 6,100 miles you can tell that I don't drive it much because I have others as it sits on the lift. This is one for "someday isle".

I installed the bi-mode without a controller just a few days before an 8,000 mile road trip. After the first annoying 3,000 miles, I was in the same hotel for 4 days, so there was time to get one shipped in, thankfully. I did a quick temporary install in the parking lot to get me home without additional hearing loss.

You should order your next car to be delivered to a Seattle dealer. Then after you fly in to take delivery, you can go home by the way of San Diego and Boston to get in a little more drive time.
