Hilarious marketing video...

But I need a detector, and like the colored screen. I'm in if it supports the blend mount (which I'm sure it does)

edit: no blendmount actually

"The current BlendMount will not fit the new PASSPORT Max. The PASSPORT Max requires a unique mount (included with purchase). Our current mounts for other models will not fit in the PASSPORT Max."

Furthermore:

"Just a side note in addition to EscortRadar's reply.

I have spoken with BlendMount, and they indicated that they will be offering replacment "clips" to existing customers who are buying the Max. At the time that I spoke BlendMount last week, they didn't know when the clips would be available, or what the price of the replacement clips would be."

I saw that last week, interested in a write up from Radar test or radar Roy.
I've been an Escort guy since my 1st Passport in '87.

Too bad the whole Blendmount thing is necessary... You'd think, after all these years, that the mfgr of a premium radar/laser detector could come up with a decent mount...

Wow quite the video gotta give them props for that production. Anyone know the cost?
As for me I will stick with my Beltronics V10 with the Blendmount.

I veiwed seveal independent videos (Radar Roy is not independent, he has good press releases but he is not independent) and the Max looks solid. The Redline is still king for real world sensitivity (especially off axis) but the Max has GPS, is incredibly responsive, and it has other features that make it much more attractive. Escort is still fine tuning the software so I expect it to perform better as they work it out. I'm not jumping out to buy a new detector but if I was in the market, I would look closely at the Max.

I believe it comes with one of their new windshield mount suction cups.

I have one of their newest ones and it is a HUGE improvement over the older ones. VERY secure.

Price is $550 I believe.

I'm leaning that way, I shot one two weeks ago, and it was great.
I've got a perfectly good detector now, but I dig the new one.

Wouldn't you still get nailed with instant on radar?

You can, but most of the time the detector will pick up a signal bouncing off the cars in front of you, giving you an instant to slow down.

Mine's saved my butt so many times over the years I can't even recall.

Escort says the range of the MAX is better than the Redline...better than any other detector they make

Also has many new features:

When you hear a Laser warning it's too late. It was aimed directly at your car and already has your speed. The only defense is Laser shifters installed on your vehicle.

I finally pulled the trigger. Ordered mine today. Should get some time in August. Trading in my 8500 x50 to get the 80$ off. I did not order all the smart cords and update subscription. Figured I probably wouldn't bother.
