Oil temperatures--LS3

Speaking of oil coolers, I just went out and looked at our car. There is oil cooler hoses routed to the drivers side of the radiator. The passenger side has the lines for the transmission cooler in the radiator. The oil cooler lines are much larger. The power steering cooler is seperate and not in the radiator.

Yes, the '10-'13 GS's got the older Z06 style air-oil coolers like in the pics, no radiator heat exchanger involved like the newer Z06's & ZR1's.
I had to install/ziptie a 6"x22" plastic cover over my '12 GS oil cooler, & now I see temps in the 160*-190* range, & 200*-220* during track days (with the cover removed). My yearly avg temp here is @ 60*-80*, so the cover stays on year round now.
I mention this becuase you don't want high RPMs/loads until the oil is at least 160*+...180*+ is preferrable, so people with dry-sump GS's should seriously consider adding an oil cooler cover to get oil temps up to 160*+ as quickly as possible.

Which would explain the oil temps very well - they seem to be following coolant temp (which is a whole different thread).

In an effort to clear some muddy water, do you have any documentation that supports a Z51 code?

IIRC, others have posted about having a Z51 code on their GS. Apparently, that's the way GM is now describing the GS suspension (probably not with F55, but that's just a guess).

I'm guessing that Z51 is the internal code for a portion of the Z16 package that's not defined somewhere else, just like the FE3 defines the springs and sways, and F55 defines the shocks.
The Z16 is standard on all GS models.
The order forms also have a Z52 code, which is only available as standard on the GS Coupe with a M6 trans, but it doesn't change anything else on the standard Z16 build.
