Pretty simple really.
Is it worth $7,000 to have an engine assembled by one person instead of many, flared fenders, a fake scoop, bigger tires/wheels/brakes and 150#'s more weight?

It all comes down to personal preference. For me if you kept the wide body and took away the sharkgills and rear fender scoops I think the GS would look a lot nicer. Just personal preference.

That only applies to the manual cars, the auto's are assembled just like the lowly base cars....

If it's the auto being how it does not shock the drivetrain I think it "might" be fine for a good while on street tires before a performance rebuild, as far as the stick it comes with the 3.42 rear.

Ok, I get that Then why buy a narrow body and pay more money for a body style they could have bought to begin with? Wouldn't those guys save money by buying the GS? When you get the body kit have it painted, buy the wider tires, bigger brakes, and all the other stuff to make it look like a GS? Just wondering, really not looking for a fight
Are GS brakes different from Z51 brakes? I was under the impression they were the same.

I bet you could do a widebody conversion for less than $6500. Parts seem to be $2000-3000, wheels will depend on what you buy, takeoffs could be less than $1500, and the work to do it is probably less than $1000.

Standard LS3 HP "VS" Hand Built LS3 HP, WOW!!!
FYI: A major car magazine i.e. Car Craft, Hot Rod, etc. don't remember which but the article was posted on here ran an engine dyno test of the LS3 using the forged crank dry sump version than converted it over to the cast crank wet sump standard version running all the same parameters and to their Jaw Dropping "surprise" the standard wet sump LS3 made 5 more HP all the way up the chart! WOW!!!
If you ask me, I think the reason is it takes more HP to run "two" high pressure oil pumps than just "one" low pressure oil pump. Additional fluid pressure/resistance "can" also reduce power from what I have read.
