I have a 2012 CRM coupe. After the C7 was introduced, I decided to go for a 13 C6. Unfortunately, I could not find a regular coupe with the 3LT package. I did not want a GS for a DD, so, I found a 2012 CRM 3LT loaded in Florida. Bought it and had it shipped to VA. I love this car, although I must admit, I do miss the VY 10 vert I sold. The C6 with 436 HP is more than enough for this old guy
I went back and forth a couple of months ago about if I should go GS or Slim. I went with the narrow, looks sleeker, the wide bodies just look heavier. I kind of liked the wide bodies before I bought my 13, but now that I have my narrow I really like it better. There's really no way you can use the potential of the wide body on the street(legally). Of course you could use the argument why have a Corvette if you're not going to break the law. So other then if you like the wide body looks it's of no value. And from what I hear the ride is not as compliant as a narrow body. Now if you were talking Z06 or ZR1, well that's a horse of a different color. That's beyond the discussion of wide body vs. narrow.
I never got excited about the so called Wide Body. I the bulging fenders and the external brake scoops, of the Grand Sport, doesn't do anything for me. Performance of the both models is about the same. Not opposed to either one. If purchasing today, the actual deal would determine which model I would choose.
I love all vettes - Of course I would love to have 1954 straight six
blue Flame with multi carbs or a 67 427 coupe - but if it was a 1984
I would do the simple fix of sticking a 688 cu in mountain motor
thru the hood.
Years ago I started off with a narrow body and over time it seems to have morphed into a wide body . . . . . . . OH, you mean my car body . . . never mind
