Default Are caliper covers tacky?

The calipers on the base C6 are not that nice to look at especially the ones on the back. Id love to upgrade the brake system, but I can easily think of 2200 better things to spend the money on. Any input would be great thanks

If you just want different color for the caliper (for the looks), then why not just paint them? I know there are a few caliper paint kits out there.
If you track your car, then probably the paint won't last long - I mean,,, everytime you bleed your caliper, it'll probably just wash out the paint. Plus, if you track your car, upgrading to better brakes make better sense to you anyway.

If you track your car, and you don't need better brake, but still want the caliper color, powder coat is probably way to go.

That being said, I know a few guys who painted their calipers and track their cars - I don't know how careful they have to be when bleeding the brakes, but it looked good from distance.

You can change the look by getting the Caliper Paint Kit. Comes with everything you need. As for the cover, I would not put them on my car, but what you do to your car is completely up to you.

Never liked them, and the more I see them the more I dislike them. Simply paint them. G2 makes a great kit that brushes on and looks great, there are spray options as well. Bottom line it is not hard to do or pay to have done vs the covers and looks so much better.

But hey, it is your car, do what makes you happy!

So what's so bad about Corvette (at least the Z06) calipers ? I was at an European driving event yesterday and got a lot of pics. Here are different calipers by manufacture.

While not as flashy, the Corvette caliper can hold it's own among the others.

Caliper Paint (like G2) > Caliper Covers

When I see caliper covers I think of BMW badges applied to Honda trunks, they are just fake
