I agree though, it's not for everyone. If you're one of those that can't appreciate it, don't do it!
40hp for intake and exhaust? Those are marketing numbers, right? Anyone actually see anything close to that on a dyno for just intake and exhaust mods? For $3K I would expect MAYBE 20hp.

You can "feel" a lot of mods that actually do nothing in terms of real performance. I've read where people can "feel" the 25% gain from adding magnets to the fuel line.

And again, the factory gives you enough power to make anything you do on the street a driver's competition. Use your brains, not your money.

I'd say I'm all stock.
Wireless M2W, and LEDs in the footwell lights.
I also bought Weathertech floor mats for use on road trips.
Not planning or wishing for anything else.

Brain is always engaged. I tune efi motorcycles on a dyno after intake and exhaust mods. I crew for a drag bike race team. Ain't my first rodeo.

10% is there with the right choices, believe it or don't.

For the sake of agreement I'll believe it. Does 40 hp more make any difference at all on the street? Would 100hp more make any difference on the street where you are looking at 0-45 times? It would make a HUGE difference in a Kia. In a C6? Not so much. Again, I'm not arguing a track car. If you are going to be tracking the car every weekend, go for it. Every little bit helps. Intake, exhaust, and take out the passenger seat to reduce weight. For a DD stock is just as good as adding $10K in mods.

Here's a difference. Mine is not a DD. I do plan on tracking it some, so I can stretch it's legs, "legally".

The LS3 responds very nicely to intake and exhaust improvements. From what I'm finding out, it also responds really well to a tune by a knowledgeable tuner. In my case, I do not want to change cams or other internal parts (yet).

The stock exhaust manifold on the LS3 is truly wanting. Certainly not done by a performance design engineer that knows exhaust design and sort of looks like it was an afterthought. Long tube header design is intended for torque enhancement. Primary tubes that are paired correctly in a 4-2-1 step, enhance scavenging and help VE.

My 07 Z06 is stock. The only things I have done is put a custom billet license plate surround on the back plate ( car has a vanity plate) and inserted a piece of ¼-20 threaded rod in the front pleated area of cargo cover. That keeps it from blowing around when windows down. (Cheep and effective)

All my other Vettes (and most anything else I ever owned) I have done mods like air intakes chips/tuning exhaust work (both headers and cat backs, but this car is as described above. As it’s a Z06 it has a bit of power and I like the sounds my exhaust makes so nothing done there.
