Average Gas Mileage - local / city streets - 10 MPG?
I drive my Z06 to work, local - city streets from stoplight to stoplight - and I don't get to spend much time on the freeway.
My average gas mileage display indicates I'm getting 10 MPG. Is there something wrong with my car?
Or is this normal for my use, i.e. lots of time spent in 1st / 2nd / 3rd gear, ?

My Z06 is getting around 15 or better in city only. Have not had this one on a road trip yet. You should be getting better than 10. Manually check your mileage between the next two fill ups.

Good idea, will check manually.
Don't know if this makes a difference, but my drive to work is less than 4 miles each way to work and back, with about 10 traffic lights. I warm up for 1 minute and then keep the RPMs below 2500 until oil temp is above 130 (which basically occurs when I pull into the lot at work).
Since noticing that the calculated MPG is so low, I've been spending a lot of time in 4 and 5th gear to keep RPMs even lower, but it hasn't helped.

Your car would still be running mostly a rich idle mixture because it never really gets warmed up from such a short drive. On your day off, let it warm up for a decent amount of time and then go drive like 25 miles in the city and see if it goes up. That or leave 20 minutes early from home and take the loooooooong way to work or even the looooong way home from work.

I never get less than 18 mpg in the city in my 2010 Grand Sport.

This is about what I get in my '09 A6 w/ Z51 (not sure which gears that is). I drive mostly city with a little bit of highway and am averaging 23-24mpg.
My Jeep GC Overland V8 4x4 was more like average 15, get 21 on the highway, and like 13 in the city.

Could be normal, I don't have a 427. My LS3 gets 13.8 avg and all I do is city driving. And I'm not modest with my driving either.

I average ~17 mpg around town in the GS Clone. Don't know about the 427 - don't drive it around town much..

my stick 61 w/350 and 4.11 gets 14-18 around town. (if i go with the flow of traffic, no nailing it).
BUT my 72 has been only at 13, probably due to the TH400 and PS.
and no OD on either.
COLD cuts mpg in half! Warming it up without moving gets ZERO MPG, so i pull right out cold at 1000-1200 rpm and then let it warm at 35-40 mph.

You're in Irvine; this time of year car probably gets warm before you get to work depending on how long it takes you. Still, in the first three gears, stop and start, I just can't believe you're going to get much better than 15. But it does depend on how hard you push the loud pedal. I'll assume you're going easy on it, in which case, your mpg is low by quite a bit imo.
As suggested above, do the two things: old fashioned miles driven divided by gals. filled for work trip. And then, fill it up one weekend day, go for a long drive, come back, fill again, paper, pencil, calculator. Come back and tell us mpg from round trip.

I generally average right around 18 w/ my 12' GS. I just broke 6,000 miles and expect to see an increase in mileage due to break in.
I did get 30 mpg on my way home from work the other day. I filled up about a mile away from the highway and headed straight home. ended up a 29.8 or something when I pulled into the driveway.
Unlike many cars I've owned, the avg miles / gallon on the display is very accurate.
Later in the week the wife and I took a Sunday drive through the foothills of Northern Colorado. Ended up at a fireworks stand in Wyoming. When we finally arrived home it was right at 24 mpg. Not bad for a bit of spirited mountain driving mixed with some city driving and aprrox. 40% highway driving.

But,... with 10 lights in 4 miles your lucky if your even driving for a 1/2 mile at a time between stopping and going and shifting up and down.
Stop, .. start, shift a few gears, drive 1/2 mile Stop, Repeat.
And, that's if your not shifting and stopping and going in between light to light depending on traffic flow.
And, how long are you sitting Idling at Each of the 10 Stop Lights
IMO, that seems to be the reason
