Default dual-mode exhaust loud enough for you?

for those who got a C6 with the dual-mode exhaust, was it loud enough for you?

I know about pulling the fuse and mild2wild, but did you decide you needed to replace the NPP with something else? if so, what else did you get?

The OEM NPP exhaust is loud enough for me. I do have the "mild to wild" to control it. I have a 08 Vert and with the top down you really get to hear it. And, now with over 30,000 miles it seems to have gotten LOUDER, especially when you downshift coming to a stop.

I made sure when I bought my car it had NPP,I didn't want to buy another aftermarket exhaust like I have done for all the performance cars I've owned before. Pulled the fuse the day I got her!!

On the '12 I bought off a dealers lot. Tried an M2W. Not impressed with the sound. Liked the Borla's I had on the '07. C7 if there is one, won't have it. Not for a 5 hp gain.

Had 2013 GS w/NPP delivered early this month. The MTW seitch was installed and the sound is great. I put velcro on the back of the vertical part of the steering wheel and attached the remote for quick access. The exhaust is MORE than loud enough for me. It's better than an aftermarket exhaust because there are times when you want some peace and quiet!

No fuse for me and it's perfect. Might do headers down the line....

The NPP is loud enough for me when it's open but it was too quiet when closed. I put collars on the actuators to keep them open just a little bit all the time. Much better and you can set your own "quiet" volume level and have no drone.

It is the best of both worlds. Loud when you want it and quiet at other times.

Default Mild to Wild

Perfect for me. I have the stock 427 exhaust and the Mild to Wild foot switch. Works great and the tone is just right. No drone on the highway and a nasty sound when I want it.

I find the NPP to have excess drone when open, at low rpm. It only sounds aggressive when you get on it.
Maybe it sounds better with headers, though.

I found the NPP far too quiet. Also, IMO the exhaust note is very weak sounding. I like something with a deeper tone and more "roar" when I get on the throttle. Check around the forum, there's a few threads like this out there. Some compared the NPP to exhaust note to that of Power Wheels

I have a Borla ATAK and love it. What it comes down to is taste, and everyone is different. Use YouTube and listen to all the different systems out there and get an idea of what fits your tastes best. No matter what you choose you're not bound to it for life. You can always change

I have the NPP exhaust and with the baffles open it sounds much louder but not super loud. I like the baffles closed but that is just me.

That's what I did. Made all the difference since I live in a "canyon" development (high building walls) AND my local police are active on too much sound.

Always slightly "open" to a nice level (had to reset it a couple times to get it right), can hear phone calls on highway, never intrusive or obnoxious to other cars at a light.

Works for me!

My current and last Vette had/have dual mode exhaust. I wanted the NPP option. I have the M2W switch.

I like the sound of the dual mode exhaust.

Loud enough for me with M2W in the open position 100 percent of the time. Otherwise pretty lame.

When I configured my GS, I included the NPP option and installed the M2W controller, mainly to eliminate the drone during highway driving with the cruise control on.

Normally the exhaust noise level is just fine in the wild mode, which is the mode I drive in most of the time.

The other thing to consider when swapping out your exhaust system, what do you do with the parts no longer in use?

Regards,

GSRANDY
