Goodyears done at 7K on GS
Just ordered a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports after the OEM GYs on the GS vert are down to the wear bars in the front and won't pass my states' yearly safety inspection. Gonna go get the street alignment after they get mounted. Car has never been tracked or driven real aggressively and they are done. $1,505 replacement cost at DT for 7,000 miles, the OEM GYs cost me 21.5 cents a mile,...... never again for GY,

I bet your alignment is off....my fronts have a lot more on them than my rears. Post your thoughts on those super sports.

Front GY's worn out at 29,000 - rears still very good, but replaced them all since they were 8 years old (2005). Went with Firestone as per many comments here. $1,600 included road-force balancing and full "street" alignment. Note: at 10,000 miles there was outside wear on all tires, and had a street alignment done at that time, perhaps that's why I got to 29,000.

Some good advice/insights from Blue Angel and K9. If you believe that an alignment is once when you get tires, you may be facing this again. And sooner than you'd like.
Alignments are (some say they never need it with their C6---I say they are lucky) a renewable item, a wear item, an occasional, maintenance item (READ: needs to be redone). That is the way it goes.
Some don't need it, some don't do it, and some do. Your choice.

Damn. That sucks for the OP.
Our 2012 GS has 14.5 K miles on the original GY's and it looks like we have 3-4K miles more to go before wear bars. Makes me want to go out to the garage and measure actual tread depth...

Smart decision. My GY's lasted 11,520 miles. Not quite down to the wear bars, but I just couldn't take it anymore. I went with Michelin PS2 ZP's... Oh my gosh no comparison!!!

For all you guys that complain you only got 8,9,10k miles out of the GY'S and you never raced the car or drove it hard don't you think something is wrong. Like in the form of YOU NEED A WHEEL ALIGNMENT! How could some people get 25k out of them and some get 10k under similar driving conditions. You don't have to be EINSTEIN to figure that one out. Corvettes are notorious for coming out of the box with bad wheel alignments so what do you guys do after a couple of thousand miles when you see the tires starting to wear already, just keep driving it and blame the tires like nothing else is wrong!

As wolfdogs mentioned once, road surface has a lot to do with it also.
But 7-10k is usually an alignment problem. OP should have the dealer contact GM and complain. I did and my rear Super Sport tires were paid for. In my case the rears wore out on the insides too quick in around 500 miles. I had the alignment checked and toe was out by a bunch.
I run Super Sports now that have around 7k miles on them and they are hitting 8/32ds now. I've been running middle of GM specs since I bought my 13 GS 2k miles ago with no abnormal wear. I also run the tires at 32psi.

my wear looks pretty even and had aligned at purchase...I am going with high speed cornering, j-turns, rapid acceleration and lack of grip on cooler days.....ok ok maybe it's my second childhood as I have heard my wife say many times "my dad didn't teach me that" we'll neither did mine....but I am teaching my son as I consider it part of defensive driving as a lot of skill comes out of those maneuvers....even took him to dega this weekend for vetts for vets. Sorry off the soap box.
That said I got to agree about GS not getting high miles (over 20k) on OEM...maybe if car is babied or just driven on a lot of straight road trips.

Wow, got 12k out of my GYs and had some left. Just wished I had swapped out to PSS's sooner.

Of course, there's only been 10K threads about excessive tire wear on the factory alignment.
Pay more attention to your tires as well, this didn't happen over night.

You are right about alignment, though. The GS comes with a more track oriented alignment which most of us would do well to correct as soon as possibxle.
