Not sure if I am qualified...

Well as for the DD question....Me and The Wifey(08 Vette) rolled 100K on Sunday. Bought her with less than 20K in Aug 09... DD all year any weather and can get 30 MPG if I am not feeling well.

LS2 is not an option just drive an LS3 and you will not have to ask any question.
