Question about 2007 wheels
Is this wheel painted or powder-coated? Damaged today by tire shop that was repairing my tire. They are paying to fix or replace it and I am getting quotes from 2 local places that do this type of repair and guarantee a match to factory finish. My Internet search so far tells me it is painted.
About the tire repair - I was 2 miles from home after a great 125 mile ride with my wife from her parent's home when I apparently run over a piece of metal. The run flat saved my rim-only to be damaged by the tire repair shop!

Get new wheels...
I have a set of those in storage. They make the car actually look like it is a Base model.
I bought 2008 wheels after all said and done 300.00 with TPS.
The 2008's Base wheels look way better, my opinion.
There are plenty of Corvette owners looking to sell off the OEM wheels.
I wouldn't even hassle the tire shop over that.
As soon as it is fixed, your going to end up curbing one of the others...
Use your Karma and write that off as a mistake. You'll be repaid in the future.

Mike, I hear you about the wheel replacement. I have thought of that, but I have only had the car a few months and new wheels are not at the top of the list. I will need new tires next year and I may consider wheels then. The tire shop is a local place run by an acquaintance of mine. He refuses to let me pay for any tire repairs he has done for me and my kids over the years. In return, I buy my tires from him and have other repairs or services done, like alignments, etc. Since I am not ready to pop on new wheels, I may cover the damage myself or split the costs with him. A local place will perform a color matched, guaranteed repair for $100.00.

Even more over my point.
If this guy is that good to you, I personally would never push the subject. He will really take care of you from this point forward.
I would rib him every time I went back, though.
As for wheels, I get it. Mine is a 2007 base and I started searching for newer wheels immediately.
It took a month before I found the set of 2008's which are on it now.
I was going to wait to install them, but...
So the 2007 wheels will go back on my Vette in two years when I sell it and buy another low mileage 2007.
And I am sure the 2008 wheels will go on my next Vette.

2005 to 2007 base painted silver/clear-coat wheel. My guess would be they will be able to fix it as good as new. Unless the color is really off, you won't be able to tell. Just find a good shop to refinish the wheel. Contact the local Porsche dealer and ask them who fixes their damaged wheels. Good luck

Thanks for the replies, guys. In exchange for the damage, on my daughter's car, the shop did a brake job, replaced two tie rod ends and sway bar end links, and did a front end alignment. I only paid for the parts, they covered the labor. Saved a day of my labor and I would have had to bring it there for the alignment anyway. And, I was already set to do this job. I had her car up on jacks at home and stopped at the tire shop after I picked up the parts for her brakes, etc. I only asked for an alignment when I was done. He insisted I bring the car up and he would have the work done for me. Done deal.
I expect to replace the tires next year. I'd like to give them that business, but told them they'll have until next year to learn how to mount Corvette tires without damaging the wheels.
Taking the wheel to Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists - works out of a local Mercedes dealership - for wheel repair.

That's really good service, even if the guy is your best friend! Buy him some wine or beer! I suspect there's already a mutual arrangement. Good for you guys!

He more than made up for it. Pay the 100 bucks yourself if you decide to get it fixed. It will look like new.
I had a flat on my '06 and took it to a Chevy dealer who didn't fix it the first time, then ruined my Comp Gray wheel the second time--he also didn't fix it. I ended up buying a new F1 SC and they ended up buying a new wheel, with the car sitting in the shop for over a week until they could get one. When I bought my '13, needless to say, it was from the other Chevy dealer in town.
