Leaving tomorrow for a LONG Road Trip!!!
After seeing Fleetwood Mac tonight!!! we are leaving around 5am tomorrow for a tour of the western US (well some of it!) in our 2012 Grand Sport!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Plan to leave Gig Harbor, drive over the Cascades, hit I-84 to Salt Lake City. After a meal at the Red Iguana, its down to Moab for Arches, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands, over to Bryce and Zion, with a photo stop in Monument Valley along the way.
After Utah, its on to Las Vegas, across Death Valley, and up the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada along route 395 to Carson City, Reno, and on to northeastern California, Klamath Falls, OR, then home to Gig Harbor!!!
We figure more than 2500 miles in about 9 days. Lots of photos along the way, and a chance to test out the new Michelin PSS's, and also the 3M Paint Defender DIY spray protector.
I'll try to post pix along the way every evening, if we have time!!
If anybody sees an Inferno Orange GS coupe going by, please give us a wave!!

Have fun! In June I am taking my Inferno Orange GS from Southern Maryland to the Corvette Museum, up to Indiana, back down the Mississippi to Memphis, then to Arkansas and back through the south to home. No idea what the mileage will be yet but I'm praying for some decent top down weather along the way. Hope you have a great drive and like the old MG ads use to say "Safety Fast".

What, you're not swinging through the beautiful state of Minnesota...
Have a great trip.

I spent so much time in Eagan at Northwest Pilot Training Center, I thought I was going to have to pay those outrageous Minny taxes!
Thanks man, we will!! No real agenda, no reservations. We are just gonna drive until we see something worth stopping for, or photo ops, or a good diner!!!
Be back the end of next week!!

That sounds like a nice trip. You'll especially enjoy the Utah part.
If you like the little off-the-beaten-path restaurants, here's a couple, but I don't remember the exact names.
If you stop in Baker, OR, ask about the restaurant with the trains inside. The locals will know.
The other odd one is on the east side of US 89 south of Bryce Canyon. IIRC it's in Hatch. Kind of a cowboy place that you'll know when you see it.
9 days is not enough. There is just too much to see and places to stop. Enjoy what you have plenty of time to do and make plans for a return to see what you missed.
