Can you powdercoat chrome?
I have a set of chrome Spyders on a black GS vert and would like to join the black wheel club. Actually I am tired of cleaning the chrome constantly. Can you powdercoat over the chrome finish and not worry about it peeling or other problems? I really want a set of black/machine face Cup wheels but can't find them anywhere not even repros. Thanks for any info.

Why don't you try the plasti dip first, see how you like it. Then in the mean time look for the wheels you want, then peel off the plasti dip and sell your chromies.
Check out my wheels, love the look of these, Forgestar CF10 in Matt Black deep concave

Drifting
as long as theres no rust the black powdercoat will look good for a while.
the chrome would be media blasted/chemical bath/acid peel depending on what the shop has
stripping and pc'ing for a 18 should cost about 80 to 90 each, $60 if you got a comerical account like me

trade me your chrome spiders for my comp grey OEM GS wheels. They should be dark enough for you. I have a 2011 GS
