Vik, Glad you solved the problem along with the help from some of the guys on here. Now get some sleep as it appears you were up half the night......lol.....!!

I scratched the plastic speedo cover on a car 35 years ago and have never wanted to touch that area again except with an electrostatic duster. If I do have to I use only a damp microfiber towel with NO pressure. Works for me.

Glad to hear it worked out for you. I like the previous poster only use a damp cloth and or a Mini Calif. Duster in there. Also be careful cleaning the console. It can be scratched very easily while cleaning.

What did I do
It sounds crazy, but I have used toothpaste on the plastic speedometer and gauges on my antique cars. Sometimes it takes several times of rubbing, but comes out beautiful. Don't use a to abrasive paste though. Just put it on a soft cloth and rub gently.

Anyways thank God for Meguiar's ultimate compound. Thank you Thank you Thank you .
Went to Walmart to get some of Meguiar's plastx but they didn't have it. After reading a previous post about trying a rubbing compound I picked up the ultimate compound and did a quick google search to see if its safe on plastic. It was and it did work very well, it did need about 10 applications but it sure took it all off. Here is a pic

For the last 12 years, we've been using GM Glass Cleaner (white foamy stuff in the spray can) on any clear plastic in our cars, and some of the colored plastics too. It was recommended for the transparent top in our C5 video, works great.
Be sure to remove dust/grit first; wash the exterior or use some DustOff canned air inside, just don't tilt the can because you'll get a super-frozen blast of liquid instead of gas.
100% cotton towel, too.

Im not sure if it will work on the center stack, its designed to get scratches and swirl marks out of the paint.
