DIC oil level trivia
Does the oil level alert prompt pop at 1 quart low or 1 1/2 quarts low ?
any thoughts on this ?
I have had it go off on both !but what's the factory default ?
55k miles on 06. Amazing car , very quick. It finally broke in all the way.

My thought is that you actually let your car get so low on oil that an idiot light goes on? (ok, so it's not an idiot light, but you know what I mean). Any car that I run hard, I keep a pretty close eye on all fluids. Actually I keep a pretty good eye on that for all cars I drive.

I do know it is annoying if that sensor wire ever comes loose under the car.
I haven't lost any oil and I have 79K on mine.
I measure what I take out and it is always 5.5 qt.
I will say I swapped to Molie1 10w40 this week and I saw 30MPG today after a 484 mile trip.
Monday's trip was 738 miles and I barely was able to get 28MPG.
Changed the oil Tuesday.
The engine feels smoother and more solid.
Usually after a fresh 5w30 change the engine just felt loose- tired.

Other factors caused that 2 MPG increase in MPG because there is absolutely no way that going to a thicker oil is going to give you better MPG. In fact, it probably wouldn't even hurt the MPG by all that much either (maybe 0.5 MPG under identical conditions) Having a strong headwind or tailwind on either of those trips was the most likely culprit for the big change in fuel economy.

For those of you that just cruise your Vettes you won't see any oil Usage no question, Unless your engine is jacked up.
Lots of chatter about oil catch cans ive noticed on the forum.
Even some of the other high-end brands are starting to adapt catch cans.
