Default Z51 IS a model

I've had a c6 and now a c7. When I got the c6 it was a Corvette.. Period You could add the Z51 pkg, which is what I did.. But it wasn't a model, just an option .
Now when you go on the Chevy/Corvette website , or even to a dealer, the choices are..
#1 Stingray / Base model
#2 Stingray /Z51 model
#3 Corvette /Grand Sport
#4 Corvette /Zo6
#5 (will be) Corvette ZR1
Now the OPTIONS are .. 1LT..2LT..3LT
and yada yada yada .My point being that it is a model, because that's how you specify which Corvette you want .
Just my 2 cents 😁

You revived a nearly 6 year old thread to say there is a C7 Z51 model?

Personally, I am not a fan of emblems but have no problems with those who are. I removed the Corvette script from the rear of my Z51 as well as the guitar looking emblems on the fenders. However, my license plate is: "Z51 Z51". "Z51" was not available.

Many of the forum members disapprove of using that badge. So what? They’re just commenting on what they would do. They’re not the Z51 badge police or the what should be done in terms of what appearance change should and should not be done. It’s an opinion. Here’s my opinion or other appearance changes. Stripes, oh no. What is it a Corvette or a dated race car. Years ago the stripes allowed the pit to recognize their car (as well as the fans). Also stripes are referred to as “go faster road cars”. Hmmm, think Corvettes need that moniker? How about wheel changes? Now that’s a personal choice, if they’re not stock, then they change the “purity” of the Corvette as someone claimed in a comment.

I know these are more extreme changes than adding a badge but it illustrates that adding a badge (that refers to a distinction of a car) is certainly normal, if done with good taste, and many of the comments here are personal and carry no weight for what you or I do. Yes, I used the Z51 badge under the stingray badge because my Vette is a Stingray Z51.

I might just take it off ... However, I may just leave it on ? ?

(No, there are none on the sides of the car)

I find that emblem tasteful....and since it’s “supercharged LS3” it’s unique and more importantly now the car is fast 👍🏻 throwing Z51 badges on cars seems weird to me or one is chasing the ZO6/ZR1 look. I do understand that’s where the ZR1 badge goes but most people have no clue about different vette models and only the ZR1 comes that way. Personally wouldn’t put Z51 emblems on, but end of the day “your vette, your call” I would have a hard time looking at the Z51 badge in the place where ZO6/ZR1 should be and feel fake or resent the car for not being what I clearly wish it was....but that’s just one dudes unsolicited opinion sooo...

The whole decision about whether to put a Z51 badge on is one of opinion. Many of you would not do it but don’t try to justify your decision by saying it’s not a model. Someone in these comments says it is a model based on information he uncovered but it still doesn’t justifies it since it doesn’t come with the badge. You can’t justify an opinion.

So it’s simply your choice and some of you wouldn’t recommend it because you wouldn’t do it. It can’t be justified to support your point of view.

I think it’s time to move on since it’s only a matter of choice. Nobodies right and nobodies wrong.

There is no Z51 model, C6, C7 or otherwise. Z51 is an option package that includes upgraded suspension & brakes. Even with the C8 you can purchase a Stingray & opt for the Z51 pkg - still not a specific model.

In fact, Chevrolet is the make, Corvette is the model & either Base, Grand Sport, Z06 or ZR1 (C6) is the trim level. On the C7 the Base trim level was replaced with the Stingray name plate.

Seems the only ones who want Z51 to be a model are the owners who don’t want to call their trim level a Base. I’ve heard others argue it’s a “narrow body model” because in their eyes the word Base has a negative connotation.

No Z51 model listed when searching for parts or on Chevy’s website

You do realize you're responding to a thread that everyone else stopped posting in 10+ months ago and longer right? I think it's you who needs to move on.

Many forum members responded to this question and since I’m a new member I wasn’t aware of that it was asked before. But I could say what you are for commenting as you did. Let me keep it professional and say that your crude. But I would like to tell you what I really thing about someone who would comment as you did. Ok smart ***?

I think anything you want to do to make your Corvette unique to you is fine . We all put our own personal touches on or in them
