I wont say it is or is not a good deal. All I can add is that when you are on your death bed will you say "My god, I sure wish I had that $4,000 I lost between the two Corvettes I had."? Answer is no......have what you want, enjoy life and remember to smile.

Is it an early 2007 or late 2007 car? Might want to have the rocker arms looked at/replaced. Probably, I would eat a few K and have the heads done.

And, like TLS-Addict said, I would read up on the LS7 engine issues, just to be sure that you minimize your risk there (if there is any)

Most dealerships (especially non-Chevy ones) have no friggin' idea about the trim levels on the Vette. The dealership mine was at thought it was a 1LT, but it really was a 3LT. As expected, they priced it like a 1LT, and I got a steal on it.

Thanks for the info. I had already saw it before buying. Seems like most rocker arm issues happened before 15000 miles and this car is at 28k. KNOCK ON WOOD. Valvetrain is super quite right now - even more than the 2012 I had. Hopefully this means I have good valve guides as well. I saw the post from GM that the head problems started in 2008. Is this right?

I don't think you lost anything. I think you used the 2012 c6 and for about 1100 dollars plus your trade you got a beautiful z06!

I would have done that deal in a heartbeat!

Congrats....

from all the info posted about the matter here on the CF, I'd say no.

All LS7 model years could be affected...need to have it properly & thoroughly checked.

My 2012 C6 base cgm with 7200 miles (auto, dual mode exhaust). Paid 41,000 out the door brand new last November.

I found a Honda dealership in GA that took a 2007 victory red Z06 in on trade with 28,xxx miles. Says 1LZ trim however it has heated seats, nav, chrome wheels, garage opener, and steering wheel controls. Priced at 41,995. Typical Z perfect condition and clean carfax.

They gave me 38,125 for my car and I talked them down to 39,250 out the door for the Z. 3.79% financing. (City Chevrolet in Charlotte NC only wanted to give me 34k for mine.)

I understand I could have saved if I bought the Z in the first place but...Was this a great deal none the less?

BY THE WAY I LOVE THE Z06.
You did great! It stemmed from buying your car right at less than MSRP You pay msrp and your upside down and couldn't have done the deal without losing money. Nice job and Nice Z~!
