Default Going to sell the C6...

Unfortunately, I am going to have to sell my 2012 C6. I sent the finance company a check and when I get the title I am going to list it for sale. Where do you all suggest I list it for sale?

I plan on listing it on this forum, Ebay and maybe Craigslist. Can anyone recommend any other places to list my car?

Thanks for everyone's help on this site.

All the ones you mentioned are good. So is autotrader.com and cars.com. Just expect the usual scammers and be careful! And do it soon; driving season is right now or very soon.

You could also list your car in your local hometown newspaper.

Just watch out for the scam offers, especially on Ebay. You can usually tell by how they write English.

I have had the best luck on craigslist. If anyone is interested they can do a 50 state search for whatever they are trying to buy and they will find your car.

I just sold my C6 here to another forum member.

I would not recommend Craigslist unless you want a stream of lowball offers. I got at least 6 offers via CL for 30% less then what I had it listed at.

If you have the time, give it a few weeks here to circulate, then move on to autotrader. I would use ebay as a last resort due to the fees involved.

Good luck!

Tom

Get a price quote from CarMax (if you've got one nearby).

This time of year I bet they'll give you a good offer.

If it's within $1000 or so of your bottom line, I'd take it. You get an immediate sale & secure payment & they do all the paperwork. IMO the peace-of-mind is well worth it.

And you won't have to deal with nitwit "buyers" that just want a test-drive.

Thanks for all the replies! Good ideas on listing. Forgot about Autotrader and Cars.com

And yes, I have a CarMax within an hour. Wouldn't hurt to check it out.

Thanks everyone!

AutoTrader for sure.

You can throw it on Craigslist but don't expect any serious offers. Its such a niche vehicle that it's kind of crazy when you actually do find someone local that seriously wants your car. If eBay still does the policy where you can list it for free if it doesn't sell, that's a good move.

Hate to hear you have to sell it, but I know how it goes. Cars will always be cars, and there will always be plenty of Corvettes out there.

I agree. Stay away from Craigs list to many scammers.

I buy all my vettes off of my local craigslist but always sell my vettes on ebay. I always place an ad on craigslist at the same time I list on ebay with a link to the ebay auction page.

I have bought and sold around 25 vettes over the years and in the last few all I have sold have been sold on ebay using "buy it now" with the "make offer" option. You get a nationwide audience and without fail I have received multiple offers from all over the country. All have sold in under a week and the last one went in 3 days. Never have had any problems with buyers or getting paid on ebay. As far as low ballers that shows interest and a lot of the eventual buyers start out with a low offer. A car is only worth what a qualified buyer is willing to pay no matter how much you are asking.

Autotrader from my experience is a complete waste of time and money and that is where I ran across the scammers and most of the contacts I received on there were other services trying to get me to advertise with them also but no real buyers.
