Black Wheel Club
Today I joined the Black Wheel Club!
Not a chrome bash thread, just my personal opinion.
I had polished wheels and wanted different wheels. Chrome looked out of place IMHO. Narrowed my choices down to machine or gloss black reproduction Cup wheels or gloss black reproduction GS wheels.
I contacted http://shop.jwmotoring.com - a forum vendor for pricing, shipping and return policies. I ordered a set of gloss black GS wheels + black lugs on Saturday and they arrived today.
Installers and random people getting their vehicles serviced gave the wheels Got more when I stopped for fuel. I see a pattern!
I'm happy with the look. Next up is changing the brake calipers to red?

The center caps where plain but I ordered decals from ***y, (5) for $5 bucks + $2 shipping/handling. I forgot which forum member gave me that tip but thanks!

Usually I'm not a fan of black wheels but on your white Vette and black roof panel, they look pretty good.
Now go get those windows tinted...

Thanks! Wasn't sure about gloss black until I saw a set of GM Black ZR1 Carbon Edition Wheels. I liked the polished wheels b/c they were subtle -compared to chrome- and easy to maintain but they looked "dated" to me. I will probably get a set of reproduction Cup wheels down the road!

Thanks! Funny! Well, I go back and forth on the window tint. Seems like window tint, even if it is legal, is just a BS reason for a traffic stop! That's been my experience. IDK, I might give it a serious consideration.

Still not sold on the black wheels. I just can't see the detail of the wheel. Why not just buy the cheap one's, can't see what they are anyway!
If you like them, that's what matters though, but since you asked for opinions......

Looks good!
I was never a fan of black wheels, but they have grown on me alot now.
I wanted to test the look on my car so I plasti-dipped them gloss black. Not a true gloss, more a satiny gloss, but for about $30 worth of paint, and it's removeable I really like it! Makes my Pearl orange calipers stand out much more too.
