Default Good Bye Northern Virginia...Hello Jupiter Florida

After living in Northern Virginia for over 30 years we decided it was time for warmer climes (as in no winter), closer to water (my wife and I are avid divers and basically water people) and fell for the Palm Beach/Jupiter area.

So MR BLU and his little brother Melo were picked up yesterday and are heading south>>

We are leaving Reston Va on Tuesday and look forward to our new lives in beautiful Jupiter

We will miss you here in Northern Virginia, but wish you the best for your Florida activities.

Beside the change in weather, hopefully you will also have a bit less road congestion.

Welcome! Moved to Orlando from Northern VA back in '96. The things you are going to miss - curves and hills. You have to go to north GA to get to roads like you had available as close as Winchester (the Blue Ridge) before.

Good luck C6. Will be doing that soon too, most likely the Kissimmee area. Thinking of taking the Auto Train down as will be going down with two cars and will rent till we are sure exactly what home to buy.

BIG congrats, you made it.

Methinks Mr. Blu's mileage is about to increase quite a bit.

Wave as you go through Jax! I95 is the funnel to SE Florida!

You're gonna love it down here.

One thing.... What you save in heating bills, you'll spend on AC and bug control!

Say good-by to the winters, we drive all years round, and some great shows here, to bad this Sunday we will miss the Stuart Corvette Club show. Next year, and checkout the local corvettes club, you have choice.

Yes, you have definitely left winters behind, but now you have to be wary of those strong tropical storms or worse, hurricanes.

Good luck in your new home.

My parents live in Jupiter out by the Turnpike and I-95. I grew up a little south of there near the Gardens Mall. Wonderful area, lots of cool little places around there and the weather can't be beat.

Hurricanes aren't a big deal there, houses are built like bomb shelters, they are a minor annoyance in most cases. Ever since Andrew, they've gotten MUCH stricter on building codes.

Check out the Center Street Nook. It's a little hole in the wall, but good food. The Jupiter Donut factory is good stuff too.

You'll probably see my old man around town, he has a White Porsche 993 with BBS style wheels and a big wing out back.

Enjoy paradise, I can't wait for the chance to move back home again.
