I painted mine, As mentioned, it is a less expensive alternative to Powder Coating. I did mine over a year ago, and I think with either method, they're going to get brake dust on them either way. Had I gone with PC, I'd have the same result today.....can't tell from 2 feet away, but I spent a lot less money!

calipers paint vs powder coat
I did a powder coated Velocity Yellow exchange and you get what you pay for in this instance.
I painted my 99 calipers and it doesn't come close to the powder coated. brake pad dust doesn't stick as bad and they are super easy to keep clean.
Down side is all the calipers have to be changed and brakes re bleed on the powder coated and there is some down time.
