Fist guy was from Quebec and if your not French Canadian the dont talk or wave to you, second guy had just waved to the first guy and got no response so you confused him

Default Thanks Tadge but I'll keep my C6

a few observations i had. my bose stereo was very loud and clear, and easily drowned out my exhaust note on the 427 with open pipes thanks to m2w. that new stereo i though i would need, i dont.
the mag ride really did its job on bumpy curvy roads, worth the money.
I could actually drive my car, instead of being worried about preordering for an unknown price and not driving it until halloween.

Wasn't to impressed with Tadge's statement to the masses. My response was to buy another C6. Keep in mind, I don't dis like the C7. What I do resent is being told that my car is obsolete by the Corvettes chief engineer. Way to win friends and influence people.

But I'm OK now - I'm content with my C6. What changed - I realized I'm just as obsolete as my C6 or more so. We fit !!
Really??
You thought driving a C6 would embarrass you because it is "yesterdays ride".
Thats a shame.
I may have many character flaws, but "keeping up with Joneses" is not one of them thankfully.

I love driving our "obsolete" C6, here she is resting in the garage.

If we had more garage space would love to add the new C7 sibling.

Dave, No reason to be embarrassed, we'll all need more rest when we are "obsolete."

Nice pic BTW.

Cheers,

Look at the C7 section and you will see most of the anti-C6 crap is coming from C5 owners. Interestingly, many of the most vocal who act like they own the C7 Forum are not even new car buyers and will NOT be purchasing a new C7.

One of the reasons I no longer bother with it.

Agreed, I've noticed the C5 owners as well. They skipped the C6 (for a variety of reasons I am sure), their C5 is getting pretty old, and they are really anxious to have a new Corvette.

I just bought a 2013 427, I expect it will perform well and look good for many years. I could easily decide to skip C7 and wait for a C8 at some point. Will it be 7-8-9-10 years? I doubt anyone at GM really knows. But by then I'd be chomping at the bit.

It's a familiar feeling for me. I decided to pass on the Bangle Butt BMW E60 (for appearance reasons) and my E39 was getting pretty long in the tooth.

Cheers,
JB

To paraphrase Mark Twain...

The reports of C6 obsolescence have been greatly exaggerated.

I was without a vette since 2003 due to life, mainly getting a business started and prosperous. In july I decided it was time to get one again. I started looking at 08 verts, didnt like the prices, then looked at grandsport verts, couldnt find the right deal for me. finally in late november i just decided to buy a new one. I was going to get a gs vert, but the limited production and homage to the 427 of old made me take the leap into one. no, it isnt a big block, old school 427, but its still a way fun car to own and drive. the extra few thousand bucks wasnt a big deal to me over the gs.
I now have brand new vert and am enjoying th F*** out of it!!!
will I get a c7 someday? probably, but until then, I dont care what they call my c6.

Ah, **** on Tadge. I had a passing fantasy about a C7 until I thought about the replacement price for my C6 with 14K miles. I like obsolete much better now.

I ordered my 2013 last spring to avoid the C7. I traded my 03 the 50th year for my 13 the 60th year.

The best decision I feel for me. I kept it torch red the 03 was thenlightmoak interior and the 13 is the cashmere interior. Still a 6sp manual.

My C6 is awesome. Super great power, smooth ride, quiet, as compared to my 03.

The more pics I see of the C7 I am still glad I didn't wait.

I will be at the bash next week and will see the C7 live then.

Just bought a 13 Anniversary GS Coupe today.

The appeal to the younger generation C7 isn't that appealing to me. One thing I love about all Corvettes is that they are unique. C7 is not unique looking.
