We have a very helpful vendor in Texas, don't know how close he is but you might be able to arrange a meet. He can usually install in a couple hours.

I purchased the kit and did it myself. There is lots of helpful info here on the forum. It took me about 4 hours total. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

I purchased the kit too from a forum vendor and plan on doing this install when it gets a bit warmer. Based on the instructions it does'nt seem too bad. I assume you DID'nt remove the steering wheel? Any tips or words of caution.....while its fresh in your head...

Frank

ps- might PM you and take you up on your offer if I get stuck....

I also purchased and installed the kit myself. I did remove the steering wheel and the dash, but the instructions were great and it was fairly simple as long as you take your time.

Here are a couple pictures of my work:

I did mine. In a nutshell two ways: take the dash off or not. I started to take it off...OMG, NO!! Then I went with the other method and it's sooooo much easier. Basically you are going to have to cut the cheapo air duct above the gauge pod assembly. You can use a simple cable saw and then use some duct tape to put it back together. It'll never be seen and works perfect.

After disassembly though I have to wonder why GM didn't make the top duct removable like they did the bottom duct tube. Somebody should have made an aftermarket duct tube to sell with the HUD install.

It's not hard with the cut & install method, just moderate time consuming (3-4 hours or less). Full dash removal is quite a bit more but doable. There are some instructions floating around the net-only caution I would say on the dash removal is it is not necessary to remove the passenger side air vent assembly (which was in the instructions).

It's a good upgrade and worth it. Make sure your wires on the hud harness are marked. Mine weren't for some reason so I had to figure it out.

Adding a HUD is a well-documented DIY project:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...e-easiest.html

But if you don't want a project, hire an experienced installer -- like forum vendors Andrew6 and SteveDotenMotorsports.

Also, different color HUD displays are available from Andrew6:

I removed my dash to install. As an 80k mile report, I do have creaks and rattles in my car but none from the dash area that I can tell. Most of the noise is coming from areas I've never touched.

Thanks Andrew. Are you by chance attending the Lone Star Corvette Classic in Ft. Worth? It is May 17-19.
