MGW all the way. Very happy with mine. The only drawback is when I go to Spring Mountain and drive their 'Vettes without the MGW I have a bit of trouble making my shifts until I get used to the factory shifter again. :-)

I have a Callaway short throw shifter in my SC580. While I love the short shift, the shifter rattles during acceleration....so far no help from Callaway. Soon I will consider re-installing the factory shifter...

If you want to try an "interim" step that drops the height of the shifter and reduces the throw, get one of the cue ***** sold by CF vendors. It will decrease the height about an inch and a half, is made to fit the C6 (no "universal" fit) and shorten the throw length (by dropping the height).

I had a husrt shifter and MGW shift **** on my c5 and loved it.
That being said, I bought a derlin shift **** and that ALONE made the shifts so much more enjoyable in my c6. Something about the stock **** that was just not smooth. Seriously, the **** alone made a huge difference to me and it was inexpensive. I'd start there

Yes, the weird angled stock **** leaves a lot on the table. One of the first changes I made was to a cue ball style **** and it was 100% better

I agree....my cue ball shifter seems to do the trick. I must admit it is my first Vette and have never tried the MGW. Stock will do for now

The way I have always shifted a manual trans is flat palm. With the stock shift **** it just felt wrong to me. So with the cue ball ****, it's a bit shorter but feels more direct and normal.....to me.

I know you were talking to someone else, but this is the one I purchased.

Best $20 spent yet. Really light and the Delrin material doesn't get hot or cold
