Leaky Shocks.....Again !!!!!
As many know, I had to take the Vette into the dealer at around the 400 mile point to try and get 3 of the 4 shocks replaced. They were leaking oil. The dealer wiped them off and said it was factory installation oil. Several days later I returned so that they could replace the 3 shocks that were still leaking the "factory installation oil". After replacing the 3 shocks and damaging the drivers side rocker panel underneath the car, I picked the car up and hoped the shock issue was behind me and forgot about.
Well, on Tuesday I decided to do a 2500 mile oil change. I put the Vette on my lift and low and behold I have 2 rear shocks leaking oil again.
These shocks are made in Mexico. Anyone have leaking shocks besides me? Or did I just happen to be the only one who was lucky enough to receive 5 bad shocks?
FWIW, I have the Magnetic Ride Control too.

Wow, that really sucks. I know they say the failure rate for those shocks are low, but your problems are the reason I didn't want them. Good luck with the repairs.......again.

I sure wouldn't be buying lotto tickets with that kind of luck. Although, you will be happy once it gets completely resolved. 108K on mine and dry as a bone. No "factory oil" either.

Shocks are replacement items.

At about 1000 miles I had one leak all of its oil onto the garage floor. Thought it was engine oil (shitload) and had it towed to the dealer who replaced it.

Good news is you're completely covered under warranty, regardless the PITA insofar as your time goes getting it made right. While your patience is required, you'll be rewarded with a great car.

Ya, I'm not as pissed at the leaky shocks as I am about having to deal with the Service Department again at this dealership. Total buffoooooons!
It's the closest dealership to me. I may just resort to taking it to the west side of town to a dealership there.

F55 shocks work equally as well during their lifetime. There is no deterioration in effectiveness like that which exists in hydraulic shocks. Their lifetime is only limited by damage or leaking seals. GM indicates the expected lifetime is around 150,000 miles before the seals leak. I'm only at 108,000 on my '08.

Doesn't that kinda mean you'll have used up 3 sets of shocks about the time my original set dies? Since you noticed a big difference when you put new ones on, then the old ones had deteriorated a lot in their performance, starting on day one.

Annoying as it is, sounds like bad luck. Many here with MRC have experienced no issues, whatsoever. However there've been a few, you're one more.

With 110K on the car - I live in the country and we have TERRIBLE roads here.... not like Glendale/Phoenix. - it was time.
I did not know any shock was capable of going 150,000 miles. Thanks for the information.
