Default ? for those that have installed a ZR1 style front splitter on a base...

I have a question for anyone that installed a ZR1 style front splitter on a base coupe or vert (narrow body) - does it eliminate the front air dam?

I am considering one if it can eliminate the front air dam. But I found some pictures (C7 Carbon) that show it with the front air dam still installed. Yet other vendors (RPI) say it eliminates the front air dam.

Which is it?

I see some threads from last year regarding the business practices of C7Carbon but they say they have the splitter in stock and their pictures shows the air dam still installed.

RPI will take a month and wants the payment up front but says the air dam is eliminated. I hate pre-paying for parts and waiting a month - been there done that.

It only eliminates the right and left not the center part. Still need it to deflect air for cooling. RPI is the way to go. Took about 15 days to get mine.

Thanks. Figured I was mislead that one can completely eliminate the dam and gain some ground clearance.

Glad I did not waste my $.

Its not a waste of money , IMO. Looks good when used with sideskirts ang rear spoiler. At high speeds (on the track) adds stabitlity. The ground clearence problem is worse. Waiting for my driveway to eat it.

It is a waste of $ for me if it makes ground clearance worse.

I back down a steep driveway. Although the bendable air dam scrapes at the bottom, the chin splitter does not. BTW, I never saw the need to remove any part of the air dam. I've driven multiple trips from east coast to west coast and south to Bowling Green, Nashville and Florida without incident.

I had the c7 splitter and side skirts installed. The right and left pieces of the air dam had to be removed for the install. A side note, the shop that painted and installed the pieces said they had to spend very little time prepping the parts for paint.

Default ZR1 Extended rear spoiler

Hey Senn,
Anxiously awaiting my ZR1 extended rear spoiler. The ZR1 chin spoiler and side skirts are just itching to go, while they wait.
