C6 Ram Air Kit

Our Ram Air intakes are all about improving airflow to your Corvette's engine. It's just a matter of superior design. Better airflow translates into a noticeable increase in power, acceleration and most importantly...bragging rights.

Any power modifications (i.e., cylinder heads, camshaft, headers, exhaust, programming, etc.) that increases horsepower output demand the higher airflow capacity of the Ram Air intake.

Back it up with test results. Airflow test Results for the C6 Corvette flowed 35% more airflow than the original factory intake system. The chassis dyno tests indicated an increase of 15 rwhp on an otherwise-stock LS2. The C6 Ls3 performance increased by 35 rwhp. All that by installing the Ram Air intake into a stock C6 coupe.

Did the install cause you to do a tune? as opposed to using the factory tune.

It is recommended that you do a tune after installing this unit

Default Water Intake ?

Does this design have similar concerns with water intake as some of the others on the market ?
Thanks

What are the problems that you're concerned about?

Nope. It's a "bottom feeding" CAI similar to the fbody ls1 intake lids. I had a ls1 Camaro with an aftermarket lid for 8 yrs and never had a an issue with water intrusion. I had a vararam on my c6 for 3 yrs that was driven yr round rain/snow/whatever with no water issues. Since there is no air scoop like on a vararam or vette-air there should be no concern of water getting into your intake and hydrolocking your engine. You are about as likely to hydrolock your motor with the ram air ss as you would with the oem intake. It shouldn't happen unless you are driving in DEEP water.

Ram Air did a YouTube video a month ago and they just finished editing it down. They installed the Ram Air “Hammerhead” intake on a Grand Sport C6 and made +23 rwhp without a tune and with a tune made +54 rwhp.

The weather was 95F / 85% humidity in Houston (not the best for getting big numbers). Again these numbers only show the airflow improvement and not the actual ram air benefit we offer. This was also a completely independent test. Ram Air supplied the intake and installed it, but the dyno, and tuning were done by 510 Race Engineering.

I am not bashing products like this, and they all seem to cost between $200 - $500 from different manufacturers and vendors. But what makes a piece of plastic and air filter cost so much? Is it recovery of engineering costs or do the materials really cost that much to manufacture. Just curious and I've wanted to ask that question for a long time. Thanks for any input.

Is it required to remove the hood, or was that just to make the install (and video) easier to do and see?

Edelbrock e-force supercharger, it's snout is offset like the zri. So the standard kit won't fit.
