Saddly they don't make them for my 2013 GS. (Rear = 325/30ZR19 (94Y) Front = P275/35ZR19 (87Y)).

OK then....somebody school me on what i'm missing. I bought a set of Firestone Firehawk Wide Ovals about 2 years ago and they are not run flats. I didn't want run flats so that why I chose these. One post said that they were a lot less $$$ than Goodyears. While i was looking I did find some run flats for a little cheaper, but none for a "Lot Less". Some of these post also state that they are getting 30-40-K miles out of these tires and they handle just as good as Goodyears. I'll really open up a can of worms here and ask how does a tire thats made to handle so good...(soft & sticky)...get so many miles ? Kinda goes against the laws of "TirePhysics" doesn't it ??....lOL Now as far as the Firehawks I have, they are quiet....but you can tell that they don't handle quite as well as a true runflat when in a tight turn. Again the laws of tire physics are at play with a softer sidewall. Now they say you can up the pressure on non run flats and it helps handling, but then you suffer with a stiffer ride and the tire wearing in the middle. Since I got my 2006 for simple crusing, i'll say that the Firestones are fine for that.

I agree with everyone else in this thread. My 08 has had them for about three years now and with 20K miles on them they have a TON of life left. Great tire for the money.

Default Firestone Firehawk wide ovals

Just put them on my '08 2 days ago and noticed the difference immediately. Obviously more miles will be needed.

Any of you folks have these in the colder climate areas? I'm currently in the market for new tires, and have been considering the two Run Flat / All Season options (michelin and Bridgestone), but was wondering how the Firestones (summer tires) handle in just cold tempearatures. My GoodYears are scary bad in anything but hot dry weather, and I need to change.

We had the Firestones on our C5, a very nice summer tire. But like most summer tires, grip deteriorates in cold weather. I drove the car one day when the temp was -10'F but the pavement was totally clear and dry. It was like driving on ice, could barely get started without spinning the tires and every stop was an ABS exercise. I've driven Michelin PS2 runflats down to about +20'F and they weren't bad, no experience below that with any other summer tire except the FS so I can't make a good comparison. Of course, the A/S Michelins are better in cold or a couple inches of snow, but you have less grip in the summer.

Just purchased my second set of FS WO RFTs. I love them. Great traction, dry, down to 3/32. This past weekend, I went to the drag strip and burned the remaining rubber down to the wear bars. Tires were still sticky enough to pull 12.3 @115.5 - launched from idle. Just put on a second set of WO RFTs and went to VIR yesterday for Charity laps. Pushed the new tires to the limits. These tire are great when warm. Below 45 f they are hard and don't have good traction. But from what I understand, that's true with most RFTs...

Performance as measured by the G's I can pull in turns is slightly BETTER than the original Goodyear Supercar tires and they cost much less and last much longer. So far I have 30K on mine and they still have plenty of tread.

I live in the Sierra mountains in California. Lots of carving of turns.

I DD my Vette to work every day. After you warm them up they work fine.

Second set of these RFT tires. I got 20K out of the first set.

Decent ride, excellent wet traction (I stay totally out of deep water )
Decent dry traction considering how good the wear rating.

Much quieter than oem Goodyear runcraps.

Decent value.

How do they stack up against the Michelin Pilot Sport ZPs as far as grip, rolling resistance, and longevity?

When I bought my car used it already had Hankooks on it. I'm only a few thousand miles into the Pilot Sports, but may try the Firestones down the road once I finally wear these out.

I ordered a set last week, and they are supposed to be in Monday. I plan to post some side by side photos of the new Firehawk rft's next to the GY OEM's I am replacing. I have never seen any posted photos of the two next to each other to compare width.
