Still shaking after Chevy dealer wheel balance
I got the car 3 weeks ago noticed the steering shaking at 80 mph... Went back to dealer rebalanced ... So now shake comes in at 70mph ... Awesome stuff !!
Now they THINK it a suspension issue also guessing tires and so on ... In the mean time I can't enjoy my car ... Nice
Hate to say this but I'm missing my old car

You might want to look for a tire shop that has a road force balance machine. There may be a defect in the tire carcass that the spin balance does not reveal.

- What model C6 do you have?
- What year is it and how many miles are on it?
- Stock or aftermarket wheels?
- How old are the tires (and what brand)...and how many miles are on them?
- Is it under warranty or something? The dealer may not be the best place to go.
- Where are you located? Maybe someone would be willing to swap front wheels/tires with you to eliminate them as the problem

Having the same problem with mine. 2013 GS vert with 200 miles. I took delivery last Saturday. It's going in tomorrow. The dealer, McMulkin, is all over it. Tommy told me today that they have a complete set on tires ready to be changed over if it gets to that point!

Thanks. Dealer. Re-balance.

Yet another vibration thread. I've been fighting this too. Three balances, the last one Road Force and the thing that has helped the most is hand retorquing the lugs in three steps. 30, 60, 100 ft lbs.
Road Force didn't reveal any wheel or tire issues. Wheel bores are concentric and fitted to the hub within .010"! I can live with it but it's not right.
Love my car still.

Had the same problem with a new 2011 GS 6spd dry sump. Did all kinds of checks including swapping tires. Took three weeks of trouble shooting tires, alignment, rotors, etc. Three shops plus the dealer worked on the problem The only fix was to replace the GY GEN 2 tires that came on the vehicle. Road force balancing the original tires did not fix the problem. Went with Michelin PS2s and never looked back

Excellent. All dealers should do this. Instead of wasting hours guessing, aligning, balancing, etc. they could definitely eliminate or identify the wheels/tires as the culprit by simply swapping all four with those from another known-good car and taking a two-minute test drive.

Had a new set that had one bad carcuss(?). Alignment, several attempts at balancing...still shake "like a dog sh*tin' peach seads!" A road force balancing resulted in discovering a tire flaw issue. Replace it, and all was well!
