Default Will C6 Corvettes go up in Value or down? After the C7 is out?i

It seems like prices for C6 has gone up a lot compared to 2011. I use to see lots of 2005 going for cheap but recently I have seen them selling for a lot more. Is it because GM is advertising the new corvette like crazy? Will prices for C6 drop after the C7 is released? Are they going up because production has stopped for the C6? Or will C6's go cheaper in 2014 cause some people will be selling and trading theirs in for C7's. Someone told me that all corvettes will go up since Chevy is advertising Corvettes a lot more due to the C7. Anyone know a correct explanation on this?

Down... its called depreciation. Until the C6 is considered "classic" it will depreciate. The introduction of a new model will most likely cause it to depreciate that much faster, unless the C7 flops... which I highly doubt. (even if it has crappy square tailights)

in a sane world with taste the value of the c6 would go up up and away...but alas, there are actually people who will buy the c7 because it is the latest and supposedly greatest and they must have it...never mind that it looks like !

Are you kidding? Every production model goes down in value, especially after a newer model comes out...just ask anyone who is divorced.

Am I better off buying a low mile corvette now or in 2014?

Down, way down. The market is flooded with them already and will get even more so. Supply will go way up and demand will go way down once the C7s go on sale. C7 has more hp and is a dramatic change. I'm already planning to trade mine in like probably 30% of the current C6 owners. You can tell that everyone is waiting for the C7s since the 2013 C6s are stacked up and gathering dust at the dealerships. Probably a mistake for GM to reveal the C7 early while so many C6s still need to be sold.

They're not stacked up around here. I bought at Classic in Grapevine, the largest Chevy volume dealer in the country, and they only had two Z06's and a handful of GS's/base models

I'd say look for a low mileage 2014 right now. No sense waiting

No signs of this happening around here yet either.

Supplies of new C6s are dwindling each day now and those in certain color combinations and with certain options are getting very difficult if not impossible to find. My brother just bought a new 2013 3LT Grand Sport convertible. He lucked out finding one in the color combination and with all the options he wanted with the exception of a ZR1 spoiler that he can add later. We searched the country looking for what he wanted and finally found it at one of the large Forum dealers 1755 miles away. They should be shipping the car to him via enclosed transport soon. Used C6s are in very short supply around here too, and nice ones are bringing premium prices right now also.

Stacked up? You wouldnt say that if you were looking for one. I spent three weeks trying to find the correct 2013 GS 3LT before I pulled the trigger. As each week goes buy the supply gets smaller.
Not all of us are waiting for a C7. I am just glad I found the C6 I wanted.

But, I seriously doubt the value of a C6 will ever increase. Neither will the value of a C7 once they start appearing on the used market.

I'm waiting for the C7 to come out this summer so I can get a low mileage C6 427 or GS vert at a bargain.
