Marks on door sills (in the paint on the body), sill plates (the stick on protectors that Chevy lays over part of the door sills), or on the doors themselves (usually on the map pocket that sticks out)?
It sounds like everyone's assuming the marks on the doors (magic eraser always works for me).
If it's on the sill plates, are they maybe scraped through the surface layer, down to the black underlayer? You might just need to replace these.
If it's on the actual painted sill, that should come right out unless the paint is damaged - not sure why it would show black though.

If you tried Magic Eraser, Simple Green, Goo-Gone,how about bug and tar remover? (removes paint scuffs, might/ should work on shoe scuffs ) Household Cleanser? If it comes off, consider getting some plastic door panel($50/pr) and door sill protectors.($70/pr) Will save you the pain and agony next time.

I've tried darned near every chemical mentioned above, some of them take most of the marks off but none get 'em all. I finally resorted to the Magic Eraser, which is mildly abrasive. It takes the marks off pretty well; but after 3 or 4 uses, the slightly pebbled texture is now shiney smooth in those areas.
Some day I'll replace the plastic sill trim, either use Ebony (which some say still shows scuffs) or another set of Cashmere and put the Mid America clear plastic covers on.
