Advice on installing my full width spoiler???
Just got my spoiler from GMParts!! Looks great, fits great!!
But...the instructions mentioned adhesive pads, but none were included with the spoiler. The studs, etc were all there..
I installed with just the "bolt on" method (total of 6 bolts). Do I need to remove the spoiler, go buy some 3M tape, and reinstall??
Thanks!

If it looks tight, leave it be

mine didn't come with the adhesive either, but i had some 3m high strength (red) exterior tape and i used it. I think it holds down the outsides of the spoiler better, but if yours looks tight and flush all around then leave it.

Mine came with the adhesive pads but when I mentioned on this forum some said NOT to use them as they can cause the ends to have a minor gap up. I used them anyway and mine looks just fine. But I see the point. Its like what ever.

I think using just the 3m tape is not a good idea, but using it with the screws can only be a benefit. I wouldn't recommend breaking the outer bolts and using only the tape like others do because they're afraid to drill holes... Measure twice, drill once.... (In my case I measured 10 times, drilled once, but I still had to widen the holes a touch... Good luck!

IMHO it is best not to use the tape. I have had my ZR1 spoiler on for 3 yrs and there was some wax buildup around/under the spoiler. Have to remove the spoiler to clean. Tape would make this a much harder job.
FYI the bolts from RPI will rust!! I used the stock bolts in the center and RPI's bolts on the outside. Only the outside bolts were rusty.

Pictures posted in the opening post!
Also, I was actually asking if I should install 3M tape IN ADDITION to the bolts. The directions were not specific..
Thanks again

If you use all of the bolts it will be fastened down so tight you dont need tape! Its a Pain in The *** though getting all the bolts tightened in such a tight speace under the back deck but I have big hands so...... Also take a dremel tool and notch out the brake light area slightly and it will sit flush. I used th template to drill the holes but sttill had to drill them out and expand them some when doing mine. Fits and looks great. Making the first drill hole is the hardest part mentally! Good luck!

Question for all you guys did you buy it pre painted or did you have a body shop paint it and did the paint match perfect? I just bought the ZR1 one from RPI in torch red but i didn't even take it out of the box yet to see the color match.
