It just seemed like the right word for the occasion, in a tongue-in-cheek sort of way.

Okay, I'll drop by the C2 section even though I may sell the C2 soon. It mostly just sits in the garage, as I'm afraid to drive it around here. I also need the garage space. It hasn't been in a show for 20 years and I've lost track of NCRS goings on even though I was quite active at one time.

One other observation I've made in my three-day relationship with the new C6 is that it is hard to launch in 1st gear from a stop without clutch shutter. I'm talking about a normal procedure of driving away from stop, not a hole-shot . Giving more RPM's helps, but I'm not going to criticize until I've become more acquainted with it, as it is quite different from my last stick-shift car.

Congratulations on your wonderful new car. Please leave the wheels just as they are!!!! JMHO. As for the clutch chatter.....my '08 MN6 did the same thing for the first 500 miles or so. I just didn't understand it but by the time I was thinking I should have the dealer look at it, it QUIT!!!! I've owned manual shift cars since 1958 and this was the first time a clutch that I've owned needed to be "broken in" but that seems to be the case.

Just use the M1 and dont fret over not having the RP in it
It will last forever with the M1.

Get the alignment set to the Pfat specs.

Maybe get a clear bra and some GM splash guards.

Congratulation!

Bert

I had that issue too for a short while. I believe it was just me getting used to the car, and not giving it enough throttle. Hasn't done it since the first few hundred miles.

Royal Purple has a Dexos1 approved motor oil, why not use that one?

mobil one full syn 5w30 is dexso approved. Have the corvette tech check out the clutch. I've had several brand new corvettes that never made if of the lot that had to have the clutch replaced.

Whew! Thanks. I'm feeling less self-conscious already.

Actually, "chatter" isn't really the best word to describe my situation, but rather it doesn't engage smoothly. All the cars I've owned in the past 30 years have been sticks, and none of mine chattered when new either. A friend who owns three Vettes suggested that when new the surfaces may not be perfectly flat, which I guess makes sense to me if machining isn't precise. I won't worry about it unless it persists.

Yes, but it lacks their propriety Synerlec additive--and like other Dexos1-spec oils they've reduced the amount of moly, phoshorus, and zinc in the formula.

Just what I want, a tranny job in the first month of ownership. Maybe I'll get lucky like VTCorvette and See5See6 and it'll just go away after a few C miles.

Congrats on the C6 addition to your family
IMO the chrome wheels look good but you have to make yourself happy.
Welcome to the group from another LA person. I am in Baton Rouge a lot visiting family.
Enjoy your new ride and be safe

Just brought home a new '13 C6 and found that GM put in a Mobil 1 leaflet in the owners manual folder. I guess its a left handed suggestion of what to use?

Mobil 1 is all I use so why mess with some other brand? Enjoy your car. And also, the chromies look fine. The only thing I'd recommend is a good Cold Air Intake, a 160 deg. thermostat, a good aftermarket exhaust and if you want seat protection I know a couple of guys that bought those neoprene seat covers from Mid-America and swear by them.

Congrats on the beautiful new C6 and welcome to CF. I’m the same age and bought the same car (’08 1LT – 6M) and I had the same clutch/shifter concerns when it was brand new. But as others have said that puting on some mileage should cure that up. Within in a short time my shifter became butter smooth and the clutch a pleasure to use. Fast launches are very easy too. At 5 years and 20K miles I love mine more than ever, so does my grandson! Enjoy!

BTW, the wheels look great on your car.
