Bought Custom 05 Vette, looking for info
I just traded my 99 Vette in Daytona, FL for a total custom 05 Monterey red Vette. Love the car, just trying to find out if the PO was a member on here, and any info on it. Here's a couple pics, it is a built car with HRE rims, Z06 panels, and tons of carbon fiber. Now I've had C3,4,5 6!

Car has 41k on it. We drove it 400 miles home and had to adjust the front fender, the door hit it. Custom car, it did settle on the drive. Traded the silver 99 next to the red cars for it. Super happy! When it idles, it gives a service charging system error message, I figure underdrive pulleys, or is this normal? Idle is at 500. Bring it up to 700 and it goes away, and never comes on when you are driving.

700-800 is normal for the c6. The only thing I would change is the Hood.2 scoops doesn't look good in my opinion...but if you like it that's all that matters. If it's a stick shift, don't forget to leave it in reverse and you might want to get a battery tender for it.Some 05's had a tendency to go dead after sitting for anything from overnight to weeks on end.Search "DBS" ON THE FORUM AND LOOK UP IN FAQ FOR MORE INFO.GOOD LUCK AND IT IS A NICE CAR!

500-550 idle is normal.

Thanks, I like the double scoop, I'm still in awe after trading my 99. Saw the car on the lot with no intentions of trading my 99, was keeping it forever. Saw it, pulled in to look at it and drove out with it 2 hours later. Am interested in finding out about the PO and what he did. Car is quick and gets 19 MPG highway, full exhaust with corsa mufflers, sound incredible. Figure it's got a tune. Stack of receipts for most mods. GF said it was a no brainer if I didn't get it, lol..

Thanks all, my sister told me that was an 06-07 color, so I thought it was repainted, but looked at the window sticker, and it was part of the 3LT options, Monterey red, no added charge for color. Am finding out about the car more and more every day, thanks Tex, same color as yours. The paint is tri stage, and a $1500 option on Cadillacs, or is what my mom's CTS tri stage was for an option. Guess I did good..

Looks sharp, and all those mods, you know he took care of it.

Congrats on a sweet looking ride You might want to have the battery checked and if you can find out how old it is, a new battery may eliminate the message.

I would suggest that second large scoop on the hood is acting like an air brake, thus lowering highway gas mileage, and probably contributes to less than normal down force at speed, so I would avoid triple digit speeds. But that Monterey Red is really gorgeous.
